The Innovating for Continence Conference Series is a unique, international, biennial conference for engineers, physicians, nurses, people with incontinence and their caregivers, academics, industry executives, and those with a passion for increased development of creative and efficacious products for the management of incontinence. Travel Awards for "Innovating for Continence: The Engineering Challenge" are designed to promote student and junior faculty attendance at this unique conference by subsidizing the cost of attendance.  Student participation at this conference is not only welcome, but is integral to the goals of the meeting. Travel Awards will cover: travel; conference registration (meals are included in the conference registration); two nights of lodging at the conference venue.

DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals for the design, development and demonstration of a Video Synthetic Aperture Radar (ViSAR) system that enables US aircraft to engage maneuvering ground targets through clouds dust and other obscurants. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.

Networks for Sustainable Molecular Design and Synthesis are groups of two or more researchers working in trans-disciplinary fields to promote the development of safe and sustainable chemicals as well as safe and sustainable synthetic procedures. For this solicitation, "chemicals" refers broadly to any and all materials, inorganic and organic compounds,??and??individual chemicals or mixtures of chemicals (e.g., endocrine disruptors, chlorofluorocarbons,??transition metal-based catalysts, macromolecules, and nanomaterials).?? Advances resulting from these Networks are expected to result in chemicals that are safer and more sustainable throughout their life cycle and thus,??the replacement of rare, toxic, and expensive chemicals with earth abundant, benign, and renewable alternatives is anticipated.

The Paralyzed Veterans of America Education Foundation, a grantmaking organization of Paralyzed Veterans of America, seeks to fund innovative educational projects that enhance the quality of life of individuals with spinal cord injury or disease (SCI/D) and/or that increase the knowledge and effectiveness of health professionals in the SCI/D community. The foundation generally supports five types of projects: 1) Consumer, caregiver, and community education demonstration projects that seek to improve the health, independence, and quality of life of individuals with spinal cord injury or disease; 2) Professional development and education programs that improve the knowledge and competencies of professionals providing health care and related services to the SCI/D community, or fellowship/traineeship programs for professionals providing health care and related services to the SCI/D community; 3) Research utilization and dissemination projects that translate research findings into practice; 4) Assistive technology demonstration projects that improve the identification, selection, and use of assistive devices by people with SCI/D; and 5) Conferences and symposia designed to provide education and opportunities for collaboration among members of the SCI/D community.

Biological threat information requirements are identified and prioritized from internal DHS sources and other Federal government partners. This BAA seeks to conducts studies and laboratory experimentation to address information requirements in biological threat characterization. The measures of success are determined by the positive influence that the deliverables have on biological agent threat awareness, prevention of and protection from a biological agent incident, surveillance and detection during a biological incident, and response and recovery from a biological incident.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to promote the development of an interdisciplinary workforce for conducting bioengineering research to develop innovative technologies for treatment of diabetes including creating integrated long term glucose regulated insulin delivery systems (artificial pancreas), beta cell or islet encapsulation for beta cell replacement therapy, wound healing or prevention for diabetic ulcers, better cellular models of relevant tissues for studying diabetes and its complications and/or beta cell and autoimmunity imaging methods. This FOA will support institutional training programs in diabetes research for pre and postdoctoral level researchers with backgrounds in bioengineering and/or computational sciences.

The Transforming Undergraduate Education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (TUES) program seeks to improve the quality of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for all undergraduate students. This solicitation especially encourages projects that have the potential to transform undergraduate STEM education, for example, by bringing about widespread adoption of classroom practices that embody understanding of how students learn most effectively. Thus transferability and dissemination are critical aspects for projects developing instructional materials and methods and should be considered throughout the project's lifetime.  More advanced projects should involve efforts to facilitate adaptation at other sites.
