PAS Kabul invites all eligible organizations (see Section C for Eligibility Requirements) to submit a proposal for the development, coordination, and implementation of monthly Afghan National Police (ANP) Community Outreach Events in the following 20 provinces of Afghanistan: Ghazni, Paktika, Bamiyan, Farah, Faryab, Kunar, Jowzjan, Laghman, Nuristan, Takhar, Urozgan, Zabul, Baghlan, Paktia, Khost, Kandahar, Helmand, Sar-e Pol, Logar, and Nimroz. Community Outreach Events will be conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and consist of spectator-friendly sports tournaments, followed by engagement meals between ANP and members of the local communities in which they serve. Tournaments will primarily feature cricket and football, but may include other sports depending on popularity in each province.

The intended outcome of this program is to advance efforts to improve and develop state drug residue prevention programs. It is necessary to provide assistance to state drug residue programs that need a stronger foundation to promote the prevention of illegal drug residues in animal derived foods through educational outreach and training. This program is intended to ensure drug residue prevention programs are developed to protect consumer exposure to drug residues in the edible products of food animals and support activities related to drug residue prevention. In addition, these awards will assist state agencies to better direct their programs to reduce the outcomes of illegal drug residues in animal derived foods. This cooperative agreement program (CAP) will focus on outreach, education and training. In addition, grantees will focus on performing targeted on-site assessments related to drug residue violations and best practice visits to industry and individuals to communicate proper drug use and promote effective management practices for drug residue prevention.

The Administration for Children in Families (ACF), Office of Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) is announcing funds for the Look Beneath the Surface Regional Anti-Trafficking (LBS) Program. The LBS Program will serve as a focal point in targeted geographic areas and focus on the identification and referral of foreign and/or domestic victims of severe forms of trafficking in persons as defined by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000. Victim identification activities under the LBS Program include direct outreach to victims, anti-trafficking training and outreach to local professionals and organizations or entities that may encounter victims of trafficking, active participation in a strong multidisciplinary anti-trafficking coalition or task force, and strategic public awareness activities.

This project will provide professional and technical development for defense legal professionals that provide criminal legal aid services in Bangladesh and help develop the organizational capacity of government legal aid committees to improve access to justice for indigent Bangladeshis. The project will provide legal training for defense lawyers to enhance the quality of legal aid services and engage with government legal aid committees to develop strategic initiatives to improve public outreach capabilities, planning, administrative capacity, and coordination among government facilities and NGOs. The project will support efforts to counter violent extremism in Bangladesh through improving access to justice and formal mechanisms to air grievances.

The ICAC Task Force National Training Program supports a national network of 61 multiagency, multijurisdictional task forces engaged in investigation, forensics examinations, and prosecutions related to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation. The funding will assist in development and delivery of content by SMEs, provide comprehensive array of trainings to the growing number of ICAC task forces in the areas of investigations, prosecutions, digital forensic, community outreach, and capacity building. This solicitation will include four categories as follows: Category 1: Entry Level and Core Training Category 2: Specialized Training on Issues, Tools and Technology Category 3: Officer Wellness

Supporting civil society and creating a space for a diversity of people and ideas is a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy abroad. To that end, the U.S. Mission to China (Embassy Beijing and Consulates General Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenyang, and Wuhan) seeks to support activities that promote civic engagement, human rights, good governance, rule of law, environmental protection, education, and multilateral and economic engagement. Such programming will enhance and broaden the outreach of the U.S. Mission in China.

The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) is seeking applications from qualified organizations for Injury Control Research Center (ICRC) grants. These centers will conduct high quality research and help translate scientific discoveries into practice for the prevention and control of fatal and nonfatal injuries and violence that support NCIPC’s priorities and mission.ICRCs are expected to blend Outreach, Training and Education, and Research activities into a program to reduce the number, risk, and public health impact of injury and violence in the U.S.

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) will provide Federal assistance to support innovative projects seeking to promote and ensure the inclusion and use of minority enterprises. This Announcement is a mechanism to encourage new activities, education, outreach, innovative projects or sponsorships that are not addressed through other MBDA programs. The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) is seeking applications from qualified organizations for Injury Control Research Center (ICRC) grants. These centers will conduct high quality research and help translate scientific discoveries into practice for the prevention and control of fatal and nonfatal injuries and violence that support NCIPC’s priorities and mission. ICRCs are expected to blend Outreach, Training and Education, and Research activities into a program to reduce the number, risk, and public health impact of injury and violence in the U.S. The over-arching goals for the NCIPC ICRC program are to: Build the scientific base for the prevention and control of fatal and nonfatal injuries and violence. Integrate, in the context of a national program, professionals from a wide spectrum of disciplines of epidemiology, behavioral and social sciences, medicine, biostatistics, public health, health economics, law, criminal justice, and engineering to perform research and provided technical expertise in order to prevent and control injuries and/or violence more effectively. Encourage investigators to propose research that involves intervention development or translation of effective programs among individuals, organizations, or communities. Provide technical assistance to injury and/or violence prevention and control programs in their geographic region, including other researchers; universities; medical institutions; community groups; state and local government agencies, public health agencies; and policy makers. Act as sources of injury and/or violence prevention and control information for their constituents and stakeholders at the local, state, tribal, national, and global levels.

The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) invites applications for its 2018 Innovation Fellowship on the subject "Resisting Criminalization." UUSC and the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) are engaged in a joint campaign that aims to "resist the harm created by criminalization" and to "create more safe, just, welcoming, and sustainable communities." The UUSC Human Rights Innovation Fellowship is a one-year $25,000 grant, awarded to an individual or non-governmental organization, designed to bring about systemic change by creating, nurturing, or spreading an innovation in human rights. For this year's theme, UUSC invites applications from individuals or organizations working on projects that seek to combat the systemic criminalization of immigrant communities, communities of color, Muslims, and LGBTQI communities in the United States - and individuals and communities at the intersections. These innovations may be legal strategies, methods of mobilization, methods of community outreach, technological or financial products or apps, path breaking applied research, advances in corporate accountability, or other new approaches. The successful proposal will be rights-based, align with UUSC's values and approach, positively impact and engage at-risk communities, and provide a new, different, and timely solution.
