The Loan Guaranty Service (LGY), which is an office of the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), is announcing the availability of funds for the Specially Adapted Housing Assistive Technology (SAHAT) Grant Program. The objective of the grant is to encourage the development of new assistive technologies for specially adapted housing. Veterans Affairs acknowledges there are many emerging technologies that could improve home adaptations or otherwise enhance a Veteran's or Servicemember's ability to live independently. Therefore, VA has defined ''new assistive technology'' as an advancement the Secretary determines could aid or enhance the ability of a Veteran or Servicemember to live in an adapted home. DARPA seeks innovative proposals for the development of element-level digital beamforming array technology at millimeter wave frequencies. The primary goal of the program is to develop and demonstrate a tile building block sub-array (>16 elements) that supports scaling to large arrays (100's-10,000+) in the 18-50 GHz band. It is expected that this will be enabling hardware for multi-function, multi-beam phased array applications and emerging massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) techniques in communication and sensing.

This ROSES NRA (NNH17ZDA001N) solicits basic and applied research in support of NASA's Science Mission Directorate (SMD). The NRA covers all aspects of basic and applied supporting research and technology in space and Earth sciences, including, but not limited to: theory, modeling, and analysis of SMD science data; aircraft, scientific balloon, sounding rocket, International Space Station, CubeSat and suborbital reusable launch vehicle investigations; development of experiment techniques suitable for future SMD space missions; development of concepts for future SMD space missions; development of advanced technologies relevant to SMD missions; development of techniques for and the laboratory analysis of both extraterrestrial samples returned by spacecraft, as well as terrestrial samples that support or otherwise help verify observations from SMD Earth system science missions; determination of atomic and composition parameters needed to analyze space data, as well as returned samples from the Earth or space; Earth surface observations and field campaigns that support SMD science missions; development of integrated Earth system models; development of systems for applying Earth science research data to societal needs; and development of applied information systems applicable to SMD objectives and data. The Embassy of the United States in London invites eligible organizations to submit proposals to develop and implement 14-day exchange program in the United States for eight 16 year-old youth participants (age as of July 1st, 2018) from the United Kingdom, to be selected by our UK government partners. The program will provide both a brief touring component designed to provide a well-rounded introduction to a range of cybersecurity challenges and exploration of U.S. public and private sector approaches, as well as a residential 'summer camp' component with a focus on practical training and collaborative skill building activities.

The agency wishes to enter into a contract for a data anonymization and correlation solution, pilot implementation, and State knowledge transfer and training. The State needs this solution for unlocking the various State systems' sensitive data, which would allow the State to identify and drive meaningful social change to make a difference for the citizens of Ohio - fixing communities, restoring hope to those most in need, identifying inefficiencies, creating jobs and economic growth, adjusting policies, and predicting and preparing for otherwise unexpected events.

The Cyberinfrastructure for Sustained Scientific Innovation (CSSI) umbrella program encompasses the long-running Data Infrastructure Building Blocks (DIBBs) and Software Infrastructure for Sustained Innovation (SI2) programs, as NSF seeks to enable funding opportunities that are flexible and responsive to the evolving and emerging needs in data and software cyberinfrastructure.

This solicitation calls for developing innovative, scalable training and education programs to address the emerging needs and unresolved bottlenecks in scientific and engineering research workforce development, from the postsecondary level to active researchers. The resultant training and education programs, spanning targeted, multidisciplinary communities, will lead to transformative changes in the state of workforce preparedness for advanced CI-enabled research in the short and long terms.

On January 16, 2018, The Department of Transportation will post a request for letters of interest to perform and document the statewide Systems Engineering Analysis for Autonomous/Connected Vehicle (SEA AV/CV) projects in conformance with 23 CFR 940 and Section 1300 of the Traffic Engineering Manual. Included with this effort will be a review, and recommendations of necessary updates, to the existing statewide and MPO Regional ITS Architectures to ensure consistency with the developed SEA AV/CV document. The goal of this effort is to create the statewide framework to guide current and future AV/CV deployments. The requirements of 23 CFR 940 will be handled at the program level to the extent possible via this effort rather than on a project-by-project basis.

Ohio Department of Youth Services is seeking proposals for an electronic visitor management system for all three juvenile correctional facilities.

The agency wishes to enter into one or more contracts that prequalifies selected offerors to establish a pool of pre-qualified Contractors that offer public/cloud based analytics platform processing capabilities and to provision for a State Public, Private and Protected data analytics platform suitable for conducting projects very large dataset analysis using a combination of open-source, commercial and vendor proprietary computing and storage platforms including highly complex numerical analysis of textual, structured, non-structured, spatial and other data sources. The agency will also establish a pool of pre-qualified Contractors that are capable of performing Exploratory Projects in a multitude of Data Analytics Domains based upon State agency need.

Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson announced in September 2017 inception of the "S&T Strategy 2030" study. The study's objective is to update the Air Force methods for conducting research and development (R&D) to meet the projected national security challenges of 2030. Secretary Wilson appointed the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to lead this strategy development.The Air Force's goals for the study are: 1. Evaluate technical approaches and focus areas to advance the Air Force's mission through R&D; and 2. Improve Air Force processes and organizational structures to manage early stage research.

NSF INCLUDES (Inclusion across the Nation of Communities of Learners of Underrepresented Discoverers in Engineering and Science) is a comprehensive national initiative designed to enhance U.S. leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) discoveries and innovations by focusing on broadening participation in these fields at scale. The L'Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship program awards five women postdoctoral scientists annually with grants of $60,000 each for their contributions in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields and commitment to serving as role models for younger generations. The program is the U.S. component of the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Fellowships program. L'Oréal USA partners with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) to manage the program's application and peer-review process. The Cross Domain Innovation & Science (CDIS) group of the Air Force Research Laboratory's Information Directorate is interested in new innovative technologies and capabilities within the Multi-Level Security (MLS) and cyber security environments, that promote the state of the art for secure, accreditable resilient and reactive capabilities to enhance the sharing of information between multiple security domains within both enterprise and mobile/tactical environments.

The BAA objective is to conceive, develop and demonstrate innovative and affordable technologies that provide network requirements of future autonomous swarm applications which will differ drastically from information exchange requirements for current applications. For example, many of the collaborative tasks defined in Part VIII-References [1] implicitly require communications to enable intra-agent collaboration in severely contested environments, something which existing military and commercial networking protocols are unable to achieve. New networking paradigms will be required before the Air Force can successfully implement future swarm-based autonomous missions. Therefore, the primary interest will be in techniques that will allow for the network-optimal use of existing point-to-point data links. This will primarily involve a combination of protocols at layer three and above, but will also include distributed beamforming techniques.
