    This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages bioengineering applications that will accelerate the development and adoption of promising tools and technologies that can address important biomedical research problems. A synergistic partnership between engineering and the life, physical, and computational sciences is also encouraged, where the unique skills of each discipline combine to enhance our understanding of life science processes or the practice of medicine. BMEidea awards are presented each year at the MD&M East Medical Device Trade Show and Convention. In addition, the first place institution will get to display the BMEidea trophy in their winning department for the year.
