For those of you interested in evidence-based practice guidelines developed by nursing, the Oncology Nursing Society's Putting Evidence Into Practice (PEP®) guidelines are now included in the National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC), an initiative of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

The program incorporates commonly held cultural beliefs in the Latino community, using them to frame abstinence and condom use as acceptable and effective health strategies.
Over a 1-year period, support included upfront training of the chapters and participating practices on quality improvement concepts, followed by ongoing sharing of data and best practices and assistance with problem-solving. The program improved adherence to recommended care processes, leading to better asthma control.
