This website is a source of information for the Alexander Techinique, which has to do with body positioning and the habits people fall into. There are resources specifially for musicians on this site. I am interested in learning more so that I can apply some of these techniques in my choral and general music classrooms.

Very useful blog with some creative ideas for the elementary general music classroom. 

My mentor showed me this website a few years ago. We both use it in our classrooms as a center for our elementary level general music classes.

This site has everything tuba. You can find instruments for sale, audition dates, and general discussions. This is a great tool to help students find out which schools have tuba openings and what types of scholarships they offer. Also you can help students who are in the market for a used instrument find potential deals.

"Web Audio API Oscillators" is a web page based on Middle Ear website. It has valuable information on how to generate sound using a web browser. It also contains links to interesting sound apps.

The software boasts its "Human Playback" feature which is designed to demonstrate expressive musical nuances, giving it a more realistic sound rather than being merely computer generated. NotePad has excellent sound quality and includes over 128 built-in instrument voices.

A free download for basic music notation. You have the ability to make simple scores and compose exercises or any music really for several different instruments. A great introduction into the full Finale product and an easy tool for students to use on simple composition projects.

Classic Cat is a resource website that provides educators and students with access to recordings of multiple classical music works.

ClassicCat is a website featuring free use MP3's of over a hundred different composers. These mp3's are available to anyone who clicks can play the files on their computer. This is a great resource not only for instrumental and choral capabilities, but for general music classes that need material for listening or comparison.

This is a great resource for integrating technology in helping students generate a response to classical music while learning about the orchestra.

NY Philharmonic Kids is an interactive website. There are a variety of games, and interactive tabs on music, instruments of the orchestra, and composers.

This is a great website that has a ton of information. It includes interactive games, sections about each orchestral instrument, a composer's workshop and many other fun activities.

This website is clearly geared toward younger students. A website like this is probably most useful in a general music setting. The website provides activities to learn about many music concepts that are relevant to younger students.

This is an excellent resource for music educators interested in learning new ways to teach general music classes, specifically music appreciation at the high school or college level. The site contains several blog entries as well as a few interesting lesson plans that provide examples of innovative teaching.

This website offers resources for teaching about jazz music in the general music classroom. The lesson plans and activities are based on the PBS documentary "Jazz: A Film By Ken Burns" and specifically designed for grades K-5 or 6-12.

I attended an Arts Integration Workshop this past summer (2015), which is designed to train general education teachers how to incorporate the arts into their lessons. This wiki has many, many examples and lesson plans for arts or non-art teachers to use!

This list of podcasts has the TED talks that focus on education. While not all of them deal with music education, they have some great insights on general pedagogy, creativity, and teaching.
