forScore is a great way to get rid of hard copies and folders of music and see it on your iPad.  Many accompanists have moved to this way of keeping their music.  If you did not know about this check it out.  It is a very useful tool.  I have used it myself on certain occasions.

ClassDojo is a classroom management website that allows the teacher to create a profile for each student to give them positive and negative feedback on behavior. Parents can log in at any time to see how their students are doing in class!

Excellent tool to use, especially when classroom teachers are already using it. It is like a FaceBook page for your class. You can easily message parents, post videos and updates, and keep track of behavior (positive and negative).

I use Charms for keeping my financial records.  Does anyone else use it for practice records or the recordings?  I just found the recordings section.  This has been a great program for me this year and made the record keeping so much easier!

Is a great way to manage funds, communicate with members and parents as well as store recordings and inventory. Auralia5 and Musition5 are very good soft wares for a music classroom. Auralia is for ear training, while Musition is for music theory. These softwares enhance a student's musicianship through very interesting activities of listening, composing, notating music, and sight reading/playing. A school has to purchase the software, though it is cloud based. The teacher adds students to different classes in the groups so that when assignments are set, they are easily submitted to the class where they belong. Teachers can create and assign worksheets, tests, and courses, and grade his/her students online as well. Tracking allows the teachers to run exams with high quality content that students love. Reports are also created in the software and parents can access their children's performance. Auralia and Musition are perfect for students of all ages and abilities. Auralia has a clean, easy to use interface designed to keep students focused on their essential ear training task.

Kahoot.com is a user-friendly free website for all educators to use in the classroom. It is fun way to interact and assess the student knowledge of content. Kahoot quizzes can be created by a user, and quizzes can be shared other users. The quizzes can be formatted differently to keep the game fun and exciting such as, which student gets the most right, or who is the first to answer. The website is free, but with an upgrade and small annual payment, there are a few more benefits to the site.

This platform is perfect for musician websites. I've been using this for years, to design sites for music artists. You can sell your tracks and keep 100% of the profits, and their features are sleek and easy to set up. Also, Bandzoogle has excellent customer support.

This site keeps an up to date feed on all technology useful to music educators. This covers basic applications on mobile devices and even classroom technology such as tuners, metronomes and SmartBoards.

Hooktheory is a DAW that allows musicians to create music based on chords. They offer access to two volumes of music theory book for students and teachers, as well as the ability to create assignments and keep a grade book for music teachers.

Auralia is a comprehensive LMS of 43 topics for ages beginners to advanced in music aural theory. Instruction and testing is sequential and logical with a nonthreatening, easy to use interface. The student and/or educator set the pace of learning. Feedback is formative and immediate with questions that keep the student focused on the concept and aware of progress. Learning reinforced through repeated emphasis on hearing, seeing and notating the aural theory concept, e.g., intervals, chords, progressions.

This is an important perspective as parents begin to worry about their adolescent's academic courses (for good reason), but many are still trying to find ways to keep their kids engaged in music.

This is a very interesting article on teaching middle school general music. I have a class of 35. it is very hard to keep them engaged. I will also look into the book.

A "what's happening" in the jazz world, but also an extremely valuable tool for music educators in North America.
