GNU Solfege - free ear training software - 3 views

  •
Excellent FREE ear-training software, as part of the GNU project. While there is little/no support from the website admin anymore, it provides a smooth and easy way to: -Recognize, compare and sing intervals -Identify & sing chords and specific chord tones -Rhythmic and melodic dictation (The "basics" of Auralia and other paid ear-training software, without the pretty interface).

ChoralWiki - 0 views

  •
This is a resource to gather public domain sheet music and lyrics. It is good for developing your own lessons and avoiding copyright, and also for programs which may not have a lot of money for new music. There are also composer pages, although I don't think these are exactly helpful. It lacks information other than birthdays and a general sentence explaining who the composer is.

Choral teachers have access to countless public domain music, ranging from ancient classics to modern compositions released to the public domain by the composers.
  •
This is a free sheet music website specializing in choral sheet music. Most of the music in the database is public domain. Great resource for choir teachers.

Browse All Recordings | National Jukebox LOC.gov - 0 views

  •
The Library of Congress website has a plethora of free historical recordings. For example, I found The Liberty Bell March from 1905. You should listen to the recordings in advance to check for inappropriate language. I think it would be very valuable to have authentic historical recordings for students to listen to, which would present the opportunity to discuss the history of recording music.

Interval Song Chart Generator - 0 views

  •
One of most common ways of recognizing intervals is by associating them with songs that are familiar. This website provides an excellent list of reference songs for every interval. They also include recordings of each reference song. Each excerpt illustrates the interval it is associated with. Earmaster also includes various ear training exercises for musicians at all levels. The training exercises are free to try, but do eventually cost in order to use.
