    DrumStation is a program that will allow students to create their own drum loops using 8 different drumming instruments. Be aware, I have not been able to find a tutorial for this program. However, it lets students be creative when composing through technology!

    Purpose of this resource: This website contains many educational videos, articles, and resources for educators and students about percussion playing technique and history. Musical Content: The Vic Firth Educator page contains fundamental playing technique for snare drum, keyboard percussion and drum set as well as demonstration videos, articles, and sequential playing exercises. There are also videos about instrument set up and maintenance. Other information: The resources on this page are geared toward both educator and student. Many of the music reading articles and exercises are also applicable to non-percussionists and can be readily adapted for classroom use.

    Drum corp is something that many high school students dream of becoming a part of.  Many students in marching bands around the world dream to become a DCI champion.  Vic Firth teamed up with the Cadets and have made videos with the music from their 2015 production, "The Power of 10" featuring the selection "Waltz".  Students can play along whether they are in the front ensemble, snare line, bass line, or tenor line.

    This website offers a multitude of resources designed for music-making. This specific organization is devoted to offering musical programs to students who are in the 80% of the population that are not involved in performing ensembles. It offers curriculum, lesson plans, and interactive activities for guitar, piano, drums, bass, ukulele, composition, voice and more. There are free PDF songbooks and lesson plans that are connected to the program, that are extremely helpful towards teacher and student interest. The best part of the program is that the majority of the music is examples that students know already - a lot of pop, rock, and even hip-hop. It connects the bridge between traditional musical concepts with music of today.

    Little Kids Rock has a multitude of resources for creating a modern band in your classroom. There are songs loaded on the website that include tab for ukulele, guitar, and bass. There are also drum set patterns included. This website serves to expose educators and students modern band and provides lesson plans to go along with the popular songs. Little Kids Rock also provides workshops on how to effectively teach a modern band program.

    This site serves as the primary hub of information for anything dealing with drum and bugle corps (competition schedules, show announcements, new developments within the organization, etc.). DCI serves as a model for many competitive marching programs around the world, especially those who participate in the Bands of America circuit.   • The spark of a thought ignites the imagination. It travels the interstate of synapses from the brain down the arm and into the hand. The hand grasps the pen and dips it in the liquid and moves from well to paper. Here the liquid drops onto the waiting space. The droplet begins to take the shape of a single letter. The letter is joined by another and another and begins to form a word. The word is linked and connected to more words. A sentence is born. More sentences emerge and join together. They become paragraph after paragraph. A story begins to dance on the pages.

    This is a great resource for making sure that you have assigned all of your percussion parts out to the percussionist. Plus, you can have the chart attached to the back wall of the band room and they will never have any excuse to not know what they are playing!
