Certain iPhone apps are being promoted out of home to encourage users to download them - if they haven't already. Rather than creating a regular old QR code that will take people directly to the app, they can scan clever, custom codes that uses images relevant to the app itself to compose the code.

Power users accounted for 78% of the total time spent in apps in the first quarter, accounting for nearly five times more sessions per month than average users. "Power users" are defined as the third of people responsible for the most in-app actions on its rewards-based network in the quarter, according to new data from mobile ad platform SessionM.

Easilydo doesn't necessarily replace an existing app, but it's kind of like a smart proactive to-do list for the iPhone. The app uses similar techniques to others - slurping in your email and Facebook and everything else and applying natural language processing and other logic - and suggests simple tasks it can complete for you.

" It sounds like a great idea and while we're not sure if this will combat piracy in the music industry, it might offer enough content for fans to justify paying for the app rather than just downloading it illegally.

Users can choose either a basic or guided workout on the app, which will then begin to play video footage of journeys through famous cities and landscapes, shot from a first person point of view. Mobile is the only place that consumer time is growing and 86% of that is apps. So maybe we should be betting our company on marketing apps too.

Interesting how quickly apps reached 10 billion downloads. Huge media audience - reinforces the strength of in-app ad strategies and may slow growth in web apps if advertisers take notice of the audience already using apps.
