A teacher could use this in their classroom for students to brainstorm in a group, identify key parts of a website, practice reading strategies on actual websites by marking them up, or discuss ideas and take notes. This site is quite interesting and I feel worthwhile. It does somewhat remind me of googledocs and other similar apps, but is unique in many ways. It could be used in a multitude of ways, and definitely lends itself to discussions and critiques of things as vast as articles and websites to paintings and art.

"Twiddla is a free, no-setup, web-based meeting playground. Mark up websites, graphics, and photos, or start brainstorming on a blank canvas. Voice and Text chat too!" This might be a great way to have students evaluate websites or documents collaboratively.

Week 9: This is a great website to connect students to real life math problems. By doing math with real life problems students are problem solving like they would in a word problem, sometimes without even knowing it. This site gives sample lessons and projects to help teachers and parents connect math to the real world. Math covers so many topics that hopefully you can connect to your students that like music, design, weather and so much more.

The different resources on this site that give activities and ideas to introduce real world math situations to students gives an alternative way to teach mathematical concepts. Teaching these math concepts from multiple perspectives increases the chance of student success. By connecting math to the real world, students will become more invested in their learning.

This website provides links to many different websites that provide activities that students can participate in that will help them incorporate real world math problems. The article was sectioned off into four distinct sections including collections of real world math problems, online math activities, math collaboration, and more real world math activities. This is certainly a website that is worth saving and coming back to over a course of the year as there are many valuable resources that can be used.

This website has sample activities to support Kindergarten students with measurement and data concepts. The sample activities are linked to a learning objective and provide a description of the standards. For each objective there are a few sample activities you can use in the classroom and then there are math centers available for purchase. Many of the sample activities have strategies which incorporate manipulatives to support students with the concepts. This website addresses my data teammate's SMART goal which is for students to be able to use manipulatives to effectively solve problems involving measurement. There are great resources which can be printed and used in the classroom.

This is a great website for students to find videos on many math concepts at the middle and high school levels. The videos give step by step examples to help students through specific problems. It is an easy website for students to search for what they need. I have even recommended this website to some of my parents who tell me that they have trouble helping their children at home because they do not know the material.

I know other teachers who have used these successfully in secondary education. I have personally viewed some videos when I was going for a dual certification in technology, as there were some physics concepts I needed to review. Great recommendation!

This website has information for teachers to explain how to set up literature circles in your classroom depending on your grade level. I like the ease of use of this software tool for a classroom setting. Since time is limited for a particular subject, this tool allows interaction, quizzing, gives helpful hints, provides short questions and answers that will hold students' attention, and at the same time provides geography statistics of the United States. Students can challenge themselves over and over for the quickness of the answers, and knowledge of the content. Technology can be overwhelming, so with limited time, I think software integration in a classroom should have ease of use.

Hi Sharon, This website provides multiple aspects in 1 site, which is very good for students to use. I could see myself using this tool when discussing more about where students live and finding more information about Maryland. The only con was that personally it was hard for me t navigate and find certain features. For students, they would definitely need more user-friendly tools. This is definitely a website that will save a lot of time and energy, and provide reinforcement of topics learned in social studies!

Hi Sharon, I took a look at the website and I agree that it is perfect for a classroom setting. Students can work together to complete the activities or the teacher can use the software to assist class lectures. The program is effective because it comes with a map and key visuals that would help students learn their geography. I took a quiz on the rivers/lakes/oceans and I didn't do very well, however I believe it was great practice, after a few attempts, I will be able to learn their names and locations. Written by a kid, this website provides information about space for elementary age students in kid-friendly language. This site would be useful as one of several sources for elementary research about space. I like the design of the site, the large font size, and that the information is broken into bullets within each topic. I do not like that the site has ads, but there are not as many as on some other "kid" sites.

Julia, This is a great site. It works well with your scavenger hunt and it has a lot of information. Thanks for sharing a site I will use in my own classroom.

This website validated my concerns about science vocabulary for secondary students. It can also provide other resource videos and professional learning resources.

This a great tool where you can post questions or comments on a wall that is interactive. We used it during a school wide staff meeting and it worked really well. It served as a "parking lot" for questions so it didn't disrupt the flow of the meeting. We also had other teachers and administrators responding to the questions/comments in real time. See the description below.. Brainstorm with students from your own school or from other schools. This program allows you to post stickers with your ideas onto a virtual wall. You can embed your wall on a website or blog.

Brandon, This is a great tool. I have been in staff meeting where it has taken much longer than it should have, but this allows for questions to be answered while information is being presented. This tool was very easy to use and like that it can be embeded into a website or blog. Thank you for sharing. Rich

This is a great resource for students of all ages. In my school, STEM is a huge focus. This website provides thousands of STEM resources for students in grades Pre-K through after twelfth grade. There are resources for each content area. When thinking of how to integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, this is a great website to check out!

("Week 7" Group members : Ruchel and Beth) This website has strategies for teaching the alphabet aside from the common "letter of the week" style. This website can be used as a resource for alphabet related assessments in the Pre-k and Kindergarten classroom.

This is a perfect resource for students who have trouble writing notes, need to review, or missed class. Teachers could attach a link for a particular lesson to your class website for students to review before class or before a test.

A website which provides the terminology used in circuits but appropriate for students. This page in particular could become part of a scavenger hunt or WebQuest activity. It has some use as a stand alone resource as well.

This is a website that helps connect students to the real world. It take a wide array of places you use math and sometimes don't think about it, like sports, music, fashion, restaurants and so many more. Videos are shown to show how math and the topic relate to each other and then students are given a task to help figure out using math. Students will be so engaged that they will forget they are even doing math!

Week 9 - This article by Leonore Ganschow and Elke Schneiderm provide an excellent description of students who struggle with learning a foreign language, yet they provide excellent strategies to assess and accomplish such task.
