It is really impressive TPACK model example that can help students learning geography. By teacher's high CK, students learn similarity and differences between continents and countries. By teacher's high PK, students are seperated groups and they are leaded in order to develop good questions. Also, By teacher's high TK, students are connected to real students in different countries in real time via using techology, so all of the students work collaboratively.

I really liked it. It is fun for students but there is more than that I believe. Because in the process they are comparing other students' clues with what they know, reviewing high amount of their information. For example students at the other side of the skype call knew their friends were not in finland, estonia, latvia, belarus, ukraine, etc (neighbors of russia). But still I think they -maybe implicitly- learnt these countries are russia's neighbors. Still, I would love to examine their geography scores to be sure about this method's efficiency.

Coursera is one of the best platforms for computer supported collaborative learning. There are numerous classes from the top universities in the world, and the expansion of these classes are run through discussions in class forums. Lots of people get together to create projects and share them with their peers.

Although online courses has some disadvantages, that platform is beyond online courses I think because it allow followers interaction instead of just slides or videos. Also I do not remember the exact details but when that platform was founded, the demand for one course was over the expected and the system was broken. Then, the same lesson began to be given as formal education and at all users who completed the course with 100 points are the ones who take the course online.

Coursera was suggested me to improve my academic speaking skills by my adviser so I have a coursera account :) There are presentations, online courses, online exams and homework etc. Also, you can get a certificate that is valid international after completing the course successfully. Unfortunately, I did not benefit from it because the price of the course was too high, therefore I gave up the course.

By this classroom, students work and learn naturally By communicating with each other and with the teacher actively in real time. Interactive tablets, computers and the board provide students work with groups using technology, while natural learning happens.

Even people are paying big amount of money for private schools, they still not have such a technology in their class. Technology getting cheaper and cheaper everyday but still I wonder how many years we need to wait to see these kind of technlogies in our school?

This is great example to CSCL but when I thought about Kutay's question according to our country; my answer get upset me :/ Because while we cannot use the smartboards at our clasroom, that kind of usage is just a dream :/

This is a website focuses on mainly contemporary styles of learning and teaching. One of its focus is on learning by design alongside some others. There is a lot of content: knowledge on LBD or its pedagogy. They also offer online courses, some suggestions for teachers who want to utilize LBD in their classes and ways to evaluate learners' knowledge.

In this video kids build their designs and exhibit them, hence their parents could see what their children do, how they learn etc.

In that video, there is a project called Kids Build. Children built cities based on given maps of Boston. They construct the city environment by different materials. Although, it seems really fun, I did not understand what teachers target to teach students? Is it for only creativity? Since children are not so grown up, concrete thinking was targeted I think. Still, what was the "content" is still blur for me. edit: Opps, duplicate :).

Here's a previously-shared example of learning by design by "Kids Build!" project. I think just getting the hands of the kids dirty is an outcome by itself. Although they do not possess abstract thinking skills at such a young age, I still think these are the ages when an interest sparks in the child, which could then turn into a passion.

Purdue Polytechnic involves the Renaissance Academy Students to build a remote-controlled helicopter. Great example of learning by design :)

We are especially familiar with the psychological flow triggers. In this slide, Steven Kohler who is a New York Times bestselling author, an award-winning journalist, and the cofounder and director of research for the Flow Genome Project varies flow triggers in four categories; psychological, environmental, social and creative. Kohler mentions flow triggers in more details in his book called The Rise of Superman. I watched trailers of his book beside watching this slide. I think it is a good point to relate creativity and flow in this way. Also, social and environmental aspects are essential because not in every flow moment, we're alone. So, I think this slide (and the book if you can buy) would be informative for you.

I haven't read this book before, but as I understand from the book review, it worth to be read. I suggest you to watch this review for understanding the relationship between challenge and skill better.

It is an application for mobile phones which you can view elements as virtual from your screen. You can view all elements seperately and also, if you put together them, they can from a product that you can see from the screen. The principle is very simple, after you install the application to your phone you can download the pdf of element cubes from the websites. I think this app looks fine to visualize an abstract topic which is elements. I agree with you Armağan about the necessity of appropriate curriculum. For example, an activity could be helpful that allows to students arrange the locations of elements based on their atomic radius in a periodic table. Therefore, the students can observe atomic radius of elements is increasing or decreasing when running left to right in rows and running up and down in columns of the periodic table. Like Selçuk said that those applications are used in other fields too. I've seen some works of Bilal Özçakır when I joined at a presentation. He visualizes the geometric shapes in 3D from QR codes. For example, you see a geometric shape from every perspective of it and you test yourself with how top or bottom perspectives of a geometric shape looks like by looking its one side. Thus, you have a realistic experience with virtual objects in immediacy.

I wrote at OdtüClass forum that interested people get learn from the beginning about developing at least basic applications. When I talked with Özçakır, he also said to me he learned the whole process from the online sources with his efforts. Of course, instead of open-source applications; the aim will be be to gain money but I think appearing more amateur applications cause many advantages at these areas.

Doodle3D Transform is a new 3D app that you can transfom your 2D drawings easily into 3D designs. Beside drawing by hand, you can also scan your photos or upload existing ones. After completing designs, you can send to 3D printer and have it. This project attract much attention at Kickstarter and they collected enough fund. This application can not be a sort of augmented reality one, I don't know but I want to share. I think, it is very usable and helpful for especially kindergarten students. Besides, while STEM is gaining many attention at the education society; this app can also be usable at other level with developing some extensions. Creativity is very important for all students at education and it is very appropriate for that mission. Using pen at our mobile education is still can be spectacular sometimes and I cannot imagine what will possibly happen if developers of that application succeed.

I want that! Where we can buy it?:)) Especially for kids it is really helpfull and enjoyable to realize which they draw something. It is like dreams come to the reality:)

It gives you a big opportunity to be in the game when you do sport. You can challenge with yourself by seeing yourself in the real sport field. Also you can improve your performance and learn with enjoyable games.

I agree with you Busra, it is very lightly augmented:) We may say that in time you may learn how to run in which distance and which tempo but that is all for now.

I agree with büşra, it a kind of visual version of runtastic with that form but it can be developed. For example, think about you run at treadmill (maybe upgraded version for VR) and with the VR glasses you can go to the any environment from the list you can choose. I think, it would be fantastic.

This video is about how to integrate technology in PE classroom by using aurasma app. A basketball coach tries to teach three basic basketball skills with augmented reality platform. Also, she shows how this aurasma app is used step by step. Enjoy!

I mentioned at OdtüClass forum abou the flexibility of that Aurasma platform and this video is the good example of it. I think that platform can be fitted to any area with the right design.

Although it is a nice though, it is not very effective for the sport enviroment. While you are practicing, it is really hard to run around with an ipad. But i agree the way of teaching. Maybe they can design a diffirent tool for more effective trainings.

I think that commercial can help to increase the awareness of society about global warming effects on polar bears by augmented reality.

TeachLive of the University of Central Florida is a virtual platform that the teachers can test out their classroom management skills before going up on the "big stage". What it basically does is to place a teacher-in-training in a virtual classroom populated by computer-generated students. A Skype conference call and a Microsoft Kinect motion sensor power the high-tech pantomiming behind the platform. It's currently being used at more than 80 campuses across the U.S. to train some of the next generation of educators, and it appears to be working.

Very interesting. I was thinking for a similar program for training clinical psychologists. Looks like it'll be a thing in the coming years.

This is a very useful platform, I think. Pre-service teachers are facing some problems at classroom management. I always think it is absurd to give classroom management lesson at theoretical and that is the best way to teach teacher candidated.

This Documentary published by Discovery Channel for a while and actually can be a great example for situational learning! Basically they have to survive in a forest without any technology and clothes. Sometimes it is really fun to watch when they are trying to find a solution to eat or sleep.

Dr. Darren Kruisselbrink teaches collage students motor development and perceptual motor development by observing and interacting with babies and pre-elementary children. He changes the way he teaches after seeing slides and lectures bore his class and lead no learning. He then looks for ways to link theory with practice and comes up with in-class baby observation and a community service which enables kids to play, parents to relax, university to bond with community, students to learn and observe motor development of pre-elementary children. This is one of the best authentic activity I've ever seen and similarly with Lave's thoughts his class contains community service, group work, and learning by doing. Kruisselbrink says this kind of teaching makes students thirsty for knowledge, creates lots of questions and curiosity, higher participation, and deeper learning.
