Most teachers are frequently looking for classroom materials that are inexpensive. If you're interested in making some of your own materials, most likely you still don't want to spend a lot of money on them. Paint chip crafts are a great option. Not only are paint chips readily available but many teachers have already come up with great ideas for them. Most of the academic ideas here are for elementary grades, but they can be adapted for older students.

"In an effort to assist teachers with fostering emerging literacy and math skills in young children, the T/TAC at VCU has purchased and augmented new early childhood learning kits. The kits are theme-based and contain materials that can be integrated within classroom centers to promote literacy and math skills. Assistive technology devices and adaptive materials have been added to the kits to assist teachers in helping all students access the materials."

Welcome AAC and General Assistive Technology lovers. Here you will find information, materials and sites of interest related to AAC and AT. Of particular interest is the use of core vocabulary to support students with language and communication disabilities.
