"Reading and writing are modalities of  language (just like listening & talking). The more we integrate literacy into language learning the more opportunities for prAACtice and learning.  Think of all the ways to prAACtice core words with reading and writing (e.g., "read again", "write about that", "that is good", "He was bad", "tell me more", "I know", etc…). With this in mind, we love encouraging a love of literacy for ALL of our students. Here are some top tips we have learned from the most reluctant reader/writers, to beginning reader/writers, to even the more proficient readers/writers. It is such a great pleasure to watch students begin to love literacy as much as we do."

This website, created by the Loudoun County Assistive Technology Team, provides links to resources for low tech to high tech math and science tools and strategies. They are created with Microsoft Office Suite, free Internet downloads, or other inexpensive materials to provide access to math and science curricula for all students. Includes cheat sheets for MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

The National Assistive Technology in Education Network -- brings together information from the many fields and disciplines that are involved in assistive technology services in educational settings. We provide that information in a cohesive, integrated manner, so that people from all disciplines can access it.

WordSift helps anyone easily sift through texts -- just cut and paste any text into WordSift and you can engage in a verbal quick-capture! The program helps to quickly identify important words that appear in the text. This function is widely available in various Tag Cloud programs on the web, but we have added the ability to mark and sort different lists of words important to educators. We have also integrated it with a few other functions, such as visualization of word thesaurus relationships (incorporating the amazing Visual Thesaurus® that we highly recommend in its own right) and Google® searches of images and videos. With just a click on any word in the Tag Cloud, the program displays instances of sentences in which that word is used in the text. WAY COOL
