Wikinomics - Apple's apps | Google's web: What is the future of the internet? - 1 views

  •
Very interesting article, to put in relation with the "The web is dead" recent article from Chris Andersson (Wired). Yes , web in not the only future of apps (SaaS), apparentlly there is a new model of apps, for mobile and perhaps for other devices also, who are not web interfaces, but based on the internet. So internet is everywhere, but UI are not only web interfaces as we could have predict it few years ago...

FT.com / Comment / Analysis - Sweet to tweet - 0 views

  • If Twitter succeeds in attracting a mass audience, there will be “all sorts of revenue opportunities”, claims Mr Chaffee. But for now, with plenty of cash in the bank, it can afford to build its audience for “years” before worrying about how to make money, he says. This “build it and they will come” approach has produced many of the biggest names on the internet. It was the strategy behind household names such as YouTube and Skype as well as Google itself. Twitter still has a long way to go to join that club but, among the many consumer internet services that are struggling for attention, it has a better chance than most.

Financial Times analyses twitter phenomenon. Very interesting to read. 'If Twitter succeeds in attracting a mass audience, there will be "all sorts of revenue opportunities", claims Mr Chaffee. When Talking About Business Models, Remember That Profits Equal Revenues Minus Costs - 0 views

  •
About what the business models of internet companies should be. I agree with this, new technologies and organizations should be applied to startups themselves, reducing drastically employees, charges and costs. Then the margin and the leverage with revenues will increase. They are the best business models, and every startup manager should be aware of it. Essential. of course, this must be projected to traditional companies also, this is what we can do using enterprise 2.0 technologies and organisations.

Good news about this is that pure players of the internet are improving their security dramatically. Data Mining Moves to Human Resources - BusinessWeek - 0 views

The cross-section of HR and more mathematical / data - based approaches and social networking platforms bring interesting and perhaps controversial angles to the space that we are discussing: "... The chart looks like colorful pop-art doughnuts flying through space. The message, though, is anything but playful. Based on a mathematical analysis of work at an undisclosed Internet company, each circle represents an employee. Those who generate or pass along valuable information within the company are portrayed as large and dark-colored. And the others? "On a relative scale, they don't add a hell of a lot," says Elizabeth Charnock, chief executive of Cataphora, the Redwood City (Calif.) company that carried out the study for a client. The upshot for managers faced with a mandate to downsize: Small and pale circles might be a good place to start cutting."

A new way to work with Zoho | FastCompany.TV - 0 views

Think you know what work might look like in the future? Zoho's evangelist (and guy who setup their data center) Raju Vegesna shows me how he can gather data from the Internet, process it in a spreadsheet, and build a report -- all within minutes using Zoho's free services. Oh, and all while he could be collaborating with coworkers from around the world on live data. This is a new way to work and it's pretty exciting to think about how cloud-based technologies like Zoho's suite of applications will change how we'll work
