Please list five stories that you feel are most newsworthy for our first broadcast. Remember to keep the visual elements and your audience in mind. If there is a story from over the weekend that you feel we should cover (check out the ones I bookmarked), you may include that as well.
    Briefly explain your five choices.
  • Taylor G

    -Women Rescued in Cleveland
-Shooting at the parade in New Orleans
-Abercrombie and Fitch refusal to make clothes for larger women
    -Cat film festival
    -Deadly Giant Snail
I think these 5 stories would be good for the show because they give a variety of different types of stories, they're all relevant and recent, and they are interesting to teens.
  • Chloe M

    -carbon emissions
    -new Orleans shooting
    -deadly snail
    -Cleveland rescue
    -cat film festival

These 5 stories would be good for the news because they provide a wide range of topis and offer both happy and sad topics. They are timely and teens would be interested because they offer interesting topics that capture the viewer's attentions.
  • Jess Cavallaro

-A&F removal to make larger clothes
    -New Orleans parade shooting
    -CO2 levels
    -Cleveland rescuers
-Scholarships awarded to teens or photo contest winners, they could kind of go together (could be super short)
    -cat film festival

I think these stories would be the best because there are some big stories, local stories, and they're all important for teens to know about. The cat story would also be a really funny story to end with that a lot of teens would laugh at, I think. And even though I put 6, the local ones could be super short like "congrats to the winner blah blah blah!"

    Hey!

Randy Jackson eaves American Idol- big entertainment news, most teens know who he is because of idol

3D Phone-Most kids have a smart phone, and are always looking to get their latest gadget. So they would be interested to hear about the new phone coming out that is 3D

Missing 3 Cleavland Girls-crazy story. very chilling. Its very current and has been in the media for years and something that hits home for us young folks because it happened to the girls when they were our age basically

Eating Insects-"Eating more insects could help fight world hunger, according to a new UN report. which is super important!!

Abercrombie and Fitch-This is relevant to teens because some people wear this brand of clothing and also I know that this is a big controversy for teens.

Carbon Dioxide levels- global issue of global warming
malaria- global disease, finding a cure would save thousands of lives
bears- local story, people need to look out for it
18 shot at parade- another public shooting its important for people to see
    cat videos- good funny kicker

1.) My year without the internet
2.) 18 people shot at New Orleans Parade
3.)Carbon Dioxide passes Long feared milestone
4.) Amar'e Stuodemire returns to knicks playoff action
5.) Active Bears in New Jersey

My year without the internet seems interesting, and it brings teens attention for what it is like not using it. The New Orleans Parade incident is informative, and people need to know about this tragedy. Carbon Dioxide is informative, and also interesting in the sense that it tells us about how our enviroment is. Amare Stoudemire is an interesting story, because the knicks could use any help from a player they had some ambition in, also they lost game 2. Active Bears in New Jersey is very local because it happened on route 202, and that is just something people around here need to know.

I think that good stories to include would be: The 3D phone article, One of the stories about the girls in Cleveland, the story about the shooting in new orleans, the carbon dioxide story and the cat story.
I think that these are all very newsworthy stories. All of these things contain important information or are just interesting stories in general.
  • D J Adams

    -Carbon dioxide levels rising
    -bear warning
    -shooting at New Orleans parade
    -amazon working on 3D phone
    -deadly giant snail

I didn't think there were that many interesting stories this week but I chose these 5 because I think they are the stories that will be most interesting to teens.
