There are many patients that lack the specific care because of natural disasters, such as tsunamis and earthquakes, even blizzards. Companies such as polycom and Tandberg both provide this service that was originally meant for bigger businesses, and now these new markets are being serviced by the companies first made for these businesses. As a matter of fact, even telepsychiatry is also offered, or mental health care is also offered. If someone is from afar and needs care right away, then they will get it that easy, instead of waiting for days, they can wait have access to doctor help right away.

This article deals with the situation of Electronic Health Records in relation to Health Care. The use of this Information Technology according to the article has done very little to improve the health care service and those who have health care. Records and studies have proven that the use of this software has be associated with western states. Stanford researches have shown that the increase use of Electronic Health Records has not improved the quality of heath care services. This is caused because of the software's highly complicated software that is currently being interacted and used with doctors that aren't well trained with the system. Because of this lack of knowledge and skill of the system, doctors could not use all of the capabilities of the system. Overall, the article argues that the government should focus more on the quality of the Electronic Health Record software in relation with how doctors approach it, rather than just getting and replacing Health records with Electronic technology. There are a variety of stake holders in relation to the Electronic Health Record software. Those doctors who do not know how to fully interact with the system are the main stakeholders. The lack of training and the lack of full interaction with the system does not allow for the doctors to use the software to it's full capabilities. Another stakeholder would have to patience who have their medical records on these Electronic software systems. They have to rely on the doctors using the software to keep their data and to keep their records to date. However, another main stakeholder would be the government who is currently trying to create a better health care system by providing doctors with the Electronic Health Records. Because the government has good intentions to create a better health care system and a better medical situation for patience, they are being affected when they are unaware that this software is not being used to its full capabilities. Because of this,

the health care system is not changing or becoming better. Social and Ethical issues are presented in the Article. The first Social and Ethical Issue presented would have to be Reliability. The government is relying on these Electronic Health Record systems in order to create a better health care service for those in the United States. However, this reliability is currently being challenged when doctors and those who work in relation to the IT system are not able to work with it to its full capabilities because of its challenging and highly technical operations. Another Social and Ethical issue that arises is digital divide. The government is in pursuit to allow and get all doctors to use this system in order to remove the divide and create a better health care service. Solutions are given in the article, where current researches at Stanford say that they should focus on training those doctors to operate their systems or the Electronic Health Records to create a better health care service.

Privacy and anonymity determines whether a user wants to post certain tweets regarding him/her and the anonymity would be how this teen had caused the spread of this worm onto other's computers which was a severe consequence for many. Tweets are meant to be secure, however any users that have accessed Twitter and clicked on the harmful link which have caused damages to their computers. The lack of security measure is terrible because it's suppose to prevent employess and users from having access to hacking; but it had done the opposite. The topic of people and machine is the benefit of Twitter. Users who have tweeted are somehow 'addicted' to posting personal information online and to their friends. It's a daily habit and a routine that most people do almost every five minutes each day. Twitter hits 50 million tweets a day and not only that, but people are very much attached to their cyber life nowadays. The internet is definitely not the safest place to talk about your daily life and the worm was spread across the cyberspace because of a advertisement that advertised for colored tweets on profiles, which was a mistake to click on.

Poor guy! was my first thought, at the age of 17 and caused such a problem on twitter. This makes me think about how technology can go wrong so fast, which is why we shouldnt become so dependent on technology all the time! A simple java script on a tweet and bam! This article meets the standards of ITGS. From assessing this article through strand 1 we see that their are a number social and ethical conditions to be considered in this story. Security is a major issue here, RIM's encryption is so secure that not even powerful governments can't crack. This brings up the issue of security because countries like India are worried that this secure network can be abused by the terrorists. This brings up the issue of the digital divide and equality of access. This issue is brought up because India was threatening to disrupt Blackberry access because India did not have access to some features that blackberry users from other countries have. This leads to another problem, Reliability and integrity. Since RIM's network is the most secure network that even the most powerful governments can't crack, because of this many Corporations use Blackberry, RIM fears that if they(RIM) allow governments get a little more access, they will lose their reliability of their majority steak holders. This brings up the number of steak holders, the steak holders are RIM. their customers, India, and other middle eastern countries who are threatening to cut off service due to inequality of access. The IT systems that are mentioned are cellphones, and RIM's network. The applications that apply to the article are Business and employment, and governments control and use of information.

This article discusses the drawbacks of using digital technology as a mode of acquiring knowledge. Although many believe that the emergence of digital technology allows individuals to increase their knowledge through the use of navigation devices and laptops, studies show how our intellectual capacity of storing and memorizing information is suddenly decreasing due to our dependancy on such devices.

Within our current society, individuals are very dependent on their digital devices in order to provide them with knowledge. However, studies prove that the more reliant we become on this technology our ability to calculate, process, and store information decreases. We resort to our laptops, cellphones, and navigational system devices in order to find out how to get to a certain location or to quickly gain some information about a certain topic. This article investigates the social and ethical concerns involving people and machines: individuals are able to access knowledge, gain answers to their questions, and fulfill their curiosity using digital devices. This is beneficial in the way that we able to expand our knowledge on a variety of separate topics in a generally fast and efficient way. However a drawback that is triggered through the continuous use of this technology is the dependancy on using it as the only mode of gaining information. Traditional means of reading a newspaper or book have been abandoned and many individuals have resorted to search engines on the internet. This alternately limits our in-depth knowledge on a focused subject. The reliability of this product will be compared to the iPad. For instance the 7in Blackberry is known as the BlackPad and is now a trademark by Blackberry. It weighs almost the same as an iPad and will be on AT&T or Verizon or only on AT&T and Verizon. The IT systems required for this product is a network provider which will be between AT&T and Verizon, wireless internet, internal memory, flash (is expected soon) and many others that are normal as regular phones and Apple's iPad. The stakeholder will be the people buying the BlackPad and the people learning how to adjust to this new generation of phones.

This is a very interesting article, I am still shock how religion still influences some people today. It is even more shocking because in the article that I picked, the situation was exactly opposite. People and governments were demanding equality of access. This article has to do with both offshoring and outsourcing. I thought this was an interesting article to read after reading the article we read in class because it gave a variety of examples of offshoring and outsourcing. This article gave a variety of point of views on the debates around both offshoring and outsourcing. First the article introduces a few examples of outsourcing such as computer processing and back-office business tasks. The author introduces ethical impacts the outsourcing creates because it uses technology and humans that are cheaper rather than using humans that are experts at a field. They also state that the current BPO offshoring profits in Indian have the potential to grow, but we are not allowing it to. People in a variety of countries are being payed less because of the differences in currency because of outsourcing. The author mentions Mr. Bourgeois, and his claim that "Mr. Bourgeois says, makes about $50 an hour, while in India a developer is paid perhaps $10 an hour. If the wages of the American developer are growing at 3 percent a year, and the Indian 15 percent a year the cost advantage will last a long time, he noted." The author mentions that there are a variety of parts of the debate on offshoring and outsourcing. The stockholders for these situations are the business people making money, the people working in foreign countries for less money, and people working the same job for more money. This is a great article to read after the one we read in class because the author provides the reader with a variety of point of views, and how the debate on offshoring and outsourcing can change if we can add other point of views.

In this article, the author talks about how companies are relying on outsourcing to hire employees. Its odd because the companies think it is better for US mainly because they are able to keep their workers and not that they are able to provide Americans with cheaper service. It also made me realize the small percentage that Americans make up of the workforce. This means that there is huge competition between American and Indian workers because they are both competing for the same jobs. But Indian workers have an advantage because they have lower wages. Companies want to choose Indians because they get to save money even though its putting Americans out of work. This is a disadvantage because then Americans won't have money to pay for the services or products.

This article is about the issues that India is now facing because they are the world leader in IT outsourcing. The IT system in this article is the call centers that are located in India. The area of impact is Business and Employment. Outsourcing provides jobs for the citizens of India. Their employment is at risk because of the fact that India now has to compete against other countries for the same outsourcing jobs. The stakeholders are the Indian workers, global customers, competitors, and the companies who are outsourcing. The Indian workers now need to work even harder to keep their jobs because there are other countries who are trying to step up their people so that they could be capable of doing the same work. For example, Africa is starting to become well-known in the world of outsourcing because they have the same amount of talent and can also speak English. India is no longer the first country that comes to mind when companies are thinking about outsourcing. Other countries are willing to do the same job for less money, leading for companies to choose them over India. There have also been cases where the customers are not satisfied by the calls that they make offshore. This would play into the decision of the company of whether they want to move their outsourcing site or not. One issue mentioned in the article is security. There have been instances in which a customer's financial information has been sold by unscrupulous employees. By outsourcing, the head company is putting a lot of trust in the company they hire to do the job. They are risking their customers' satisfaction by allowing foreign countries manage their operations. Although a call center may not seem really important in the company, the workers are still dealing with customers of the company and should make sure to keep them satisfied. If the customers are not satisfied, they would probably take their money and invest in another company who would give them a more secure experience.
