Videos - CNET TV Use the iphone on Verizon wifi - 0 views

  •
Really interesting alternative to ATT service although it's very expensive to add this service to iphone. You can add the wifi to an itouch though and have Verizon data network access. :-)

Excellent demo about how you can use your iPhone or iTouch with Verizon wifi. Not a cheap alternative but provides access to areas not available on ATT network.

Wi-Fi Sync Not Working? Here's How to Fix it for All iOS Devices - 28 views

  •
"One of the best general iOS features is wifi syncing, which, just as the name implies, allows you to sync content, data, pictures, music, whatever, to and from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and a computer running iTunes, without ever connecting the device with a USB cable. Of course, this feature is only useful when it's working, and a wide variety of users are encountering an issue where wi-fi syncing just stops working. Either the device refuses to show up iTunes, or it disappears immediately when attempting to sync content to it. The solution below will resolve either of those problems and is quite simple."

Save and Transfer YouTube Videos to an iPad | iPad with Wes - 10 views

  •
"Sometimes, to teach a class, its can be helpful to save a local, temporary copy of a YouTube video to your computer and transfer it to an iPad. Then the iPad can play the video from its "Photo Roll" without being connected to the Internet. This is especially helpful in places where wifi Internet access to YouTube is not available. In this four minute tutorial, Wesley Fryer explains how to use the free website saveyoutube.com along with the $2 iPad application PhotoSync (and free desktop companion software) to do this."

Apps in Education: 4 Way Video Calls on iPad - 7 views

  •
"Last month Fring released an iPad optimized version of their app that can do 4-way video calling. Now you can talk to 4 people at once and because the screen is cut in 4 you can see everyone. You can make the video calls over 3G as well as WiFi and as an added bonus, Fring is a multi platform app. You can use it to talk and video chat with your friends even if they have an Android device. I can't help but think about ways to use this in education. "

Yikes - Time for Some Storage Space Management on my iPad - iPad Insight - 8 views

  •
"I was doing a quick (I thought) WiFi sync on my iPad 2 this morning, just to get a new iBook I'd downloaded on the Mac onto it. The sync went quite slowly and during it I caught a glimpse of the Capacity status bar in iTunes - and noticed that free space on the iPad 2 was down to around 7GB free. That's a terribly low amount, given that it's a 64GB model."

How to reduce Wi-Fi interference on your iPad (or iPhone) - Appletell - 3 views

  •
"If you feel you're getting more Wi-Fi interference than other iDevice users in your area (considering that if you're in an area with a lot of open networks, a small amount of this type of interference could be normal behavior), you can take a few steps to troubleshoot the problem and reduce the interference you are experiencing."

iPad 3rd Gen (wifi/cellular) - 4 views

  •
Like earlier iPad models, the iPad 3rd Generation (Wi-Fi/Cellular* - AT&T/A-GPS, A1430) -- which some may choose to refer to as the "iPad 3," even though Apple does not -- is a tablet computer for the web, e-mail, photos, video, music, gaming and more. Unlike earlier iPad models, however, the iPad 3rd Gen line is significantly more powerful and the focus has shifted more substantially from consuming content to creating it. All iPad 3rd Gen models most notably feature a "resolutionary" 9.7-inch 2048x1536 (264 ppi) multitouch glossy LED-backlit "retina" display, but also pack a dual-core 1 GHz Apple A5X "system on a chip" with quad core graphics, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of flash memory storage, a rear-mounted 5 megapixel "iSight" camera capable of shooting stills and 1080p video and a front-mounted VGA-quality "FaceTime" camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and more. This specific iPad 3rd Gen model also supports 4G LTE connectivity (700, 2100 MHz), intended for use on AT&T's network in the US and Bell, Rogers and Telus in Canada, as well as A-GPS. Battery life is reportedly 10 hours "surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music" and 9 hours surfing the web using cellular data. Compared to the iPad 2 models, major differences for the iPad 3rd Gen line include a higher-resolution display, faster processor, better camera, and improved connectivity. *In response to criticism from consumer groups and government agencies, Apple formally changed the advertising of this model from "Wi-Fi + 4G" to "Wi-Fi + Cellular" starting around May 12, 2012.

Well, it looks like the iPhone will finally be released in the country where it's made. There is one tiny problem though. It won't include Wi-Fi.
