"Today, we'll be looking at coding on the iPad, specifically Koder Code Editor by iCodeLabs. Koder is a code editor that attempts to turn the iPad into a coding machine. "As a writer and iPad owner, I'm always looking for ways to use my iPad to write effectively. I do not need complex word processing software for my work - I just need simple plaintext editors that can sync with Dropbox, as I need a way to get my text on to an actual computer!"
"Side by Side is a remarkable free app. With Side by Side, you can split the iPad screen into as many as four windows that can be positioned and sized as needed. These windows can be used to view multiple websites, PDF's or MS Word files. Or, any of the windows may be used for note-taking text editors. Text can be copied into a text editor from other open windows. Text-to-speech is available in any of the windows via Speak Selection."
If you have stacks of magazines that you never find the time to read, or dropped subscriptions because you never read the magazine (and grew tired of being pestered to renew as soon as you subscribed), then Longform is for you.
To use a potentially dated print mag metaphor, Longform is a digital Utne Reader. Longform.org's editors choose articles for the Longform feed. A reader can add additional subscriptions to a wide range of publications including the New Yorker, Esquire, Businessweek, and the Atlantic to customize her feed.

There are umpteen text editors for iOS, some full office suite alternatives, and of course, Apple's own iWork set to compete with. I would give my eye teeth to attend this... cost is an issue right now. Sounds amazing! If you need ideas on where to spread the word, let me know. I'll send this out to the Apple Distinguished Educator list for sure.
"the range of apps available in science, combined with form factor and ease of use of most iOS tools, makes the iPad an amazing tool for scientific investigation and learning. I wish I could show you all of the amazing science you can explore with the tens of thousands of science specific apps available in the iTunes store, but this journal isn't long enough, and I don't want to upset our wonderful editor. So, here are a few apps that can change the way kids learn science."
