Your Perfect Solution For Sharing Student iPad Projects | teachingwithipad.org - 22 views

  •
"There is an ever growing number of teachers and students using iPads for creation projects. Little by little, people are understanding that the iPad is not just a consumption device for reading emails, watching YouTube and checking FaceBook and Twitter. The iPad is a powerful creation device. But an issue arose during the year at my school: How does one share large student videos and other projects with parents? Read ahead to find out."

Pain and Remedies of Sharing iPads in Schools - 17 views

"There is no end to the uses of the iPad in education. I've discussed that ad nauseum on this blog. As a learning tool, it has the potential to make a great positive change to learning. The only problem is Apple designed it for individual use. Schools are designed for ( or budgeted for) shared use. Conventional wisdom is for iPad use to occur in a 1:1 or BYOD Environment. In the best case scenario, I wholeheartedly agree. Unfortunately, financial realities will often dictate that sharing is the only viable option if we want our students to enjoy the benefits of the iPad. It can be done effectively - I've shared my thoughts early in the year about the pros and cons of shared iPads - but doesn't happen without some time consuming workarounds. What follows is my take on the pains (and remedies) of sharing iPads in a rather large Primary (elementary) school."

Learning and Sharing with Ms. Lirenman: Using an iPad in a Grade One Classroom - 7 views

"Since November I've had the privledge of teaching with an iPad in my grade one class. Along the way I have discovered a lot of great ways to use it to help my students have their individual learning needs met.  Having just one iPad did bring about its own set of challenges but we were very lucky to have access to some additional iPads in the final term of school.  Next year we will have  iPads again thanks in part to my participation in my school's successful innovative learning grant application and another special project I'm involved with at the school district level.  Needless to say my head has been spinning all summer with ways I can integrate this technology into my classroom with out loosing sight of the important non technology based teaching and learning my students need too."

Digital Roadtrip * Unique method for accessing student work on iPads? - 16 views

  •
"There is an awful lot of hot air blown about accessing student work from "class sets" of iPads, via email, WebDAV, Dropbox etc etc. A little known and cool method is this… We all know that we can share via iTunes over USB to any Mac/PC with a recent version of iTunes.

Well would you believe the same thing works without a cable and it doesn't have to be the Mac/PC that manages the devices. It means that any teacher can access all the students files on a device that has been "Saved to iTunes". You can even pick up the work, mark it and hand it back to the iPad whilst the iPad is still being used by the kids (unbeknown to the user!)."

Dark Side of the iPad ~ Collecting student projects is difficult! | John Larkin - 16 views

Since its release the iPad has garnered arguments regarding whether it is primarily a device for consumption or creation. I have always believed that it is a device capable of creation. One simply needs to consider apps such as Avid Studio, DemiBooks Composer, Pages, Keynote, Minecraft Pocket Edition, Art Rage, SketchBook Pro, Comic Life and many others. These and many other apps all allow the user to tap into their talents and produce output of which they can be proud.

iPaddiction: iPad Camera & YouTube Becomes Great Tool For Sharing Revolutionary War - 1 views

  •
"The iPad camera integrated with our YouTube channel has TRULY been an integral digital tool in our learning environment. We have been all about "telling the story" of U.S. history. Over the last two days, our students have acted out major events from the Revolutionary War. We used a script written in Google Docs and shared on the iPad as our play script along with numerous camera persons to capture the story and discover the learning."

"There are several methods to share photos from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. You can mail it or send it through twitter also. The easiest of all the methods is to send photos via iMessage, a new messaging service from Apple. The service comes for free. In case the other person receiving the photo does not have an ios devise you can send it as an MMS as usual."
