You Look Under The Sink To Find A Leak With The Garbage Disposal Best Plumbing Services... - 0 views

  •
When you look under your sink and see a leak one of the first things that is assumed is time to get new garbage disposal, but this isn't the case. For the most part, if you are leaking around your disposal it is because of a faulty plumbing pipe or poor installation. So check the plumbing and the mounting hardware mounting to the sink itself. If you notice you're still having the leaks it's the time to get in touch with your local plumbing services. Many homeowners have the luxury of having garbage disposal to help make cleaning dishes easier, along with keeping the pipes clear of large food particles. Some may have never thought about getting a garbage disposal until they bought their first house which just happened to have one. This was the case for myself (You can call Best Plumbing Services in USA). I happen to see random light switch by the sink (Being young at the time, not knowing) and turned it on. I then heard this loud growl yell at me from the sink. This was my first run with garbage disposal. Having a garbage disposal has been great but can put you in a panic if you start to have some issues. When problems arise you can start to notice strange smells coming from the sink. You can notice when you flip the power switch you don't hear the disposal running, or you notice that water is continuing to clog. What we have here is 5 simple solutions that you can try to help get your garbage disposal back in operation, before you decide to go out and purchase a new one or call on that Best Plumbing Services in USA AKA the professionals. Yes this is a quick DIY for you. There Is A Clogged Garbage Disposal One of the first misconception of a garbage disposal is that it has blades so it can eat through anything. Though yes there are extreme safety precautions (LIKE DON'T PUT YOUR HAND IT THERE WHILE RUNNING) I will share with you the not so obvious things that you should avoid putting in disposal. The list here; oil, grease, or any nonfood item. Though

Why banning technology is not the answer - The Learner's Way - 0 views

  •
There is something about human nature that draws us towards dichotomous patterns of thought; an all or nothing, us or them style of thinking in which an option is either good or it is bad. In such a model complexity and subtle nuance with multiple possible outcomes and routes towards a goal are ignored. The field of educational technology is one where such a pattern is evident and recent ban on technology by a Sydney school shows how this style of analysis can have a significant impact on student learning.

Letting how we choose to learn inform our teaching - The Learner's Way - 0 views

  •
Think of a time when you were completely immersed in a learning challenge. A time when you became aware of the need to master a new skill or concept. A situation that took you outside of your comfort zone, when there were times that you became frustrated, when you thought of quitting, downed tools and walked away, but came back time and time again. Maybe it was a problem you had to solve. Maybe it was a challenge you wanted to overcome.

What if? Reflections from the ACSA Conference - The Learner's Way - 0 views

  •
Last week I spent three days thinking about curriculum and all that it means to teaching and learning thanks to the Australian Curriculum Studies Association's biannual conference. It was three days of deeply thoughtful conversation and learning with just the right mix of academic research and ideas for grounded practice straight out of innovative classrooms and schools. With keynotes by Alan Reid, Dan Haesler, Bob Lingard, Robert Randall and Jan Owen combined with Masterclasses from some of Australia's leading educators there was much on offer. The biggest challenge was deciding which workshop you would attend when every session offered such outstanding opportunities.

Lessons from Schrödinger's Cat - The Learner's Way - 0 views

  •
There are some ideas which seem to translate nicely into fields of thought far from their point of origin. These are  ideas which shine a metaphorical light on concepts and allow us to develop a deeper understanding of that concept once we see it from a fresh perspective. Schrödinger's Cat is one such idea.

Realising the benefits of reflective practice - The Learner's Way - 0 views

  •
It is generally accepted that learning is enhanced by the inclusion of deliberate, reflective practice. Indeed the act of reflecting on the impact that our actions have towards the achievement of any goal (learning oriented or other) is shown to have a positive impact. Reflective practice is defined as the praxis (interdependent and integrated theory, practice, research, thought and action) of individuals or groups to move from 'better thinking to better action' as a result of reflection for, in and on learning (Harvey et al. 2010 p140). With this in mind, it is worth considering what reflective practice might look like and to consider it in a range of contemporary contexts.

I had the pleasure recently of listening to Michael Fullan thanks to ACEL (Australian Council for Educational Leaders). Like many thought leaders who are looking closely at the current state of education, Michael builds a strong case for radical change in education.
