  • And how do we assure that teacher quality matches the needs of today’s digital age learners? It all comes down to new models of professional learning. Just as classroom approaches to learning and teaching have changed to active learning models, so must professional development for educators. Gone are the days of sit and get. That approach must be replaced with hands-on, relevant, immediately implementable learning. And that learning must include best practices in tech integration if it is to meet the needs of 21st century learners.
  • As much as we ask students to collaborate in tech-integrated classrooms for increased engagement and deeper thinking, so must we apply that approach to educators in every role — superintendents, administrators, teachers, tech coaches and IT directors, to name a few.

    This is a very great article, I think that networking with other teachers is how you truly become a great teacher. If teachers did not network and talk to each other they would only know what they were taught in college and not have any hands on experience from other teachers who may have been there for a long time. I also believe in staying in touch with others through social media, it is a great resource.

In today's digital age, sharing our stories or work with the world is an integral part of making learning meaningful and positioning oneself to take place in digital society.     This is an insightful article. Teachers do not want to spend 80% of their day teaching common core lessons. Since their administrators force them to do so, they spend less time reading about new and exciting facts they could be sharing about broader subjects. To sum it up I believe teachers are being pulled from learning more to teach robotic lessons.

Using Google Classroom made the grading process easier for her because she did not have to fight with "unreadable" handwriting anymore. She was able to grade the assignments from any device or computer without having to carry tons of paper around. And she was able improve her classroom's organization by keeping track of her students assignments in the cloud. This allowed her to view, grade, and comment on their assignments without damaging or losing them. For the students, it was beneficial as well because it gave them independence and ownership over their own learning. They were also able to work at their own time and space. Google Classroom proved to be beneficial for both the students and the teacher.

The article uses hyperlinks to back up the claims of the school that implementing technology in the classroom has not shown any positive correlation towards a students ability to learn. This article is showing how a school is actually doing everything the opposite of what our class, INTC 2610, is learning how to do and it is interesting to see a view that does not believe technology integration is an integral part of learning.

    I thought this was a great article. There have been a lot of research on this game that suggests it's a really great learning game. It helps kids to use their imagination as well and critical thinking and math skills. Incorporating this into the school would be a great idea as this is something kids are very enthusiastic about and are comfortable with.

    I enjoyed this article, i feel it would be a good idea to at least give it a try. Minecraft is a game that I have heard of an my best friends elementary school aged children play. I think it would be a good idea , the game helps kids use skills they need like critical thinking and problem solving. They also build things, use their math skills, and are using their imagination all while incorporating technology.
