Google Calendar is exactly what the title states; a calendar. The calendar is like any other google extension in that it is accessable anywhere and the teacher has control. This would allow teachers to post and edit assignments from anywhere and allow students to access it at anytime. This is especially useful for those students who are constantly losing things. 

This is similar to mine. However I believe this is the future of of most teaching. The ease of online use and grading makes teaching much more effective and accessible.

This article talks about the many ways that diigo is helpful in a classroom. The main helpful thing is that by using Diigo, students can bookmark important websites and access them from school or home and the students will always have access to this data.

I've often wondered how flipped learning works for students without internet access, and this article addresses that issue well. Not a problem.  Evernote is an application that allows you to access your notes anywhere at anytime from any device. Ever note web clipper extension takes the Evernote application one step further. Evernote makes studying for a test and organizing information easier then ever. When you find a good site or good pdf, clip it and save it in your evernote file forever from anywhere. Random computer not a problem just log into your account and you have all the notes you have ever taken on it organized in notebooks. 

I've used the Evernote app in the past, but with this chrome extension, it seems much more useful! The combination of the highlighting feature and the anytime access definitely improves the tool.

In this article Education Secretary Arne Duncan highlights how the achievement gaps within our schools can be closed by the increase investment in technology use in all classrooms. He states that 2/3 of teachers wish they had more technology in the classrooms which is being limited due a high percentage of schools not having adequate bandwidth or access to high-speed internet. As future teachers who are learning now how to integrate technology into our classrooms this article is important to our class because it shows that most schools do not really have the opportunity to utilize this knowledge. But, the actions of Duncan and other reforms are trying to ensure that we as teachers receive the professional development and resources available so we can integrate our technological knowledge in the classroom.

When I first saw the title to this article, "Infographic: Citizenship in the digital age," it made me smile. The popularity of technology and the world wide wide is growing rapidly. It's not only for personal use anymore. We truly have reached a "digital age." Anything and everything can be done and is done through the internet. With technology growing and becoming more and more available in the classroom and at home. Children as young as 3 and 4 years old are having access to things we never thought would be possible. As funny as it may sound it is extremely accurate that this article compares all of the similarities between actual citizenship and digital citizenship. As up and coming teachers it is important that we not only address this issue to our students but to practice it and show it's significance. This especially applies to bullying. Bullying has become such a huge issue in our classrooms recently and the majority of it is cyber bullying. With the world wide web  being such a big part of our everyday lives, its scary to think about it's permanency  and possible effect on our lives.

This is a very great article, I think that networking with other teachers is how you truly become a great teacher. If teachers did not network and talk to each other they would only know what they were taught in college and not have any hands on experience from other teachers who may have been there for a long time. I also believe in staying in touch with others through social media, it is a great resource.

It emphasizes the importance of making the teacher comfortable and knowledgeable so they can teach their students. It also provides ways in which teachers can avoid failure and be successful like access to tech support, training, and personal usage.This presentation reported that Including teachers in the decision process makes them feel vital which is another way of making a successful change and they will be accepting to student assistance. I like that this article is very detailed in how to effectively use technology in the classroom. According to the article, technology incorporation should be seamless, second-nature. The way we use pen and paper today should be the way technology is used. We don't stop to think about how to use the pen and paper in a class; ideally, the same thing should be happening in blended classrooms.

This article discusses ten different chrome extensions that make learning and research a whole lot easier. One of the ten chrome extensions listed is Read and Write for Google. This extension is great for students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia.

Math and Science students are now using the Madden NFL game for the classroom. Being a division 1 AA football player and now coach of the game, this learning tool is something I would definitely love to use in the classroom and for myself! Electronic Arts will work with NFL Players Association and Discovery Education on a program called EA Sports Madden NFL: Football By The Numbers. The program is for 5th and 9th graders to teach them Math and Science skills. The program will combine football concepts with math and science principles including physics and probability. Different opportunities will be accessible for the kids as well. Students can take field trips to EA Sports Tiburon studio in Orlando to watch the creation of the Madden NFL. NFL players are hopping on board too. NFL players will help promote the program and develop awareness of the learning opportunities. Being a fan of this game, this is very good news. Not only is it incredible that they are using it for academic reasons but I believe accessing knowledge for gaming creation will benefit the game in their future. Every Madden game gets more realistic each year, allowing children to gain greater knowledge of how this system works will increase the future endeavors for the company.

What a wonderful article! Teachers, Principals, parents, and students need to read this article. Our 21st century learners are quite different than they were 15 years ago. Technology integration in the classroom is a proven fact that students will be critical thinkers, higher order learners, and be competitive in the real world. Love it.

This article discusses the shift we are seeing in the classrooms as more and more technology is integrated. It is helpful because it shows us how we, as future teachers, must use technology with our students. We must trust them with the technology. We are no longer going to be in classrooms where we have more access to technology than our students. It is going to be universal. We will be using technology  interactively with the students and the students will have a better understanding of the subject, and technology they're using.

This article may be helpful to us because it relates to all of us as teachers and talks about the resources we use in class that allows us to do our job. In the world we use tools for everything, for example we need knives, spoons,forks,pots,ingredients to cook and if we didn't have them we couldn't eat. The same goes for education. The tools we use in classrooms change how we teach and make us the teachers we are.

Shirley, I like how this article shows a timeline of tools in the past that have impacted education and our society. It is also very true when the author says that tools like IPads now a days can cloud our thinking. Teachers can over use IPads to teach lessons when there might be better possible strategies available. There is a fine balance when integrating technology that I think comes with experience in handling and implementing technology in the classroom.

Does what its suppose to do. The extension is a good time saver for people who use google docs more often than everyone. I hate waiting for docs to load in order to create a new document.
