What a wonderful article! Teachers, Principals, parents, and students need to read this article. Our 21st century learners are quite different than they were 15 years ago. Technology integration in the classroom is a proven fact that students will be critical thinkers, higher order learners, and be competitive in the real world. Love it.

This article discusses the shift we are seeing in the classrooms as more and more technology is integrated. It is helpful because it shows us how we, as future teachers, must use technology with our students. We must trust them with the technology. We are no longer going to be in classrooms where we have more access to technology than our students. It is going to be universal. We will be using technology  interactively with the students and the students will have a better understanding of the subject, and technology they're using.  

This article discusses the technology movement we are currently experiencing all around us. Technology is everywhere and this is what todays children are being brought up on. This is the normal to them unlike students who were learning even just 10 years ago. Technology is the future and we as future teachers need to embrace it.

I found this article that relates to our class. It relates to our class because it talks about how todays students are starting their schools years using more technology then ever before. Instead of having students writing, they are swiping screens. This article labels the skills that technology can help improve in students today.

The videos are intended to help teachers quickly learn how to use some of the the web tools are essential to being a successful user of classroom technology. The videos cover tools like Skype, Diigo, VoiceThread, and more.

The article talks about the importance of developing internet use guidelines that students can understand by avoiding overly complicated words that may confuse or intimidate students. These guidelines should focus on how students should use the technology rather than focusing on what they should not be doing. The article also focuses on the importance of involving parents and helping them understand how their children should be using technology. Furthermore, the article mentions the importance of being aware of the new apps and their implications in the lives of students. This allows school districts to stay one step ahead and decide whether or not they want students to have access to these apps.

For example, some sites change or update their site. So make sure to check once in awhile. Make sure you have an understanding and now what to do. With things that you are sometimes unsure with, make sure to try to get help with it from someone that may know.

Project ReimaginED is based of of Sarah Winchester's idea for her eighth grade students workshop which allowed students to comment and grade each others works anonymously. This was a great idea and could be a tremendous help to anyone need a technological helper in their creative writing class or if the class is new and not comfortable with each other yet. Project ReImaginED is a contest for teachers to show off their ways of infusing technology into their classrooms in order to win. Winchester's idea allowed the students to express their ideas without having to share their identity so some may be more inclined to say more than the usual, "It was nice. I liked it." When they have to workshop their peers. Project ReimaginED "allows teachers to see what their peers have already or plan to implement in their classrooms and encourages teachers to try technologies in ways they have never imagined." It does not say what the prize is for winning.

This is a good example of how a teacher used technology and tech tools to not only teach her students but coincide with the common core curriculum. Her tip is to use an assignment that her students can use to complete as a grade as well as understanding and focusing on analytical thinking, decoding a document, and being able to explain a math problem.

Not every school has the resources necessary to take their students on an airplane . . . or spaceship tour. Having the iPad app can help these students and show them how things are inside and out. Fun app for the students. They have virtual sites for many historic places.

I think bringing ipads into the classroom and giving students a chance to see a virtual version of a famous museum or historical place is an amazing teaching too! Most students may never get to the actual place but that doesn't mean they should not get the chance to experience it, whether it be virtual world or not. It makes the information to students more interactive and they can connect history to the places they see online.

This article may be helpful to us because it relates to all of us as teachers and talks about the resources we use in class that allows us to do our job. In the world we use tools for everything, for example we need knives, spoons,forks,pots,ingredients to cook and if we didn't have them we couldn't eat. The same goes for education. The tools we use in classrooms change how we teach and make us the teachers we are.

Shirley, I like how this article shows a timeline of tools in the past that have impacted education and our society. It is also very true when the author says that tools like IPads now a days can cloud our thinking. Teachers can over use IPads to teach lessons when there might be better possible strategies available. There is a fine balance when integrating technology that I think comes with experience in handling and implementing technology in the classroom.

Shirley, this article is really interesting! The analogy you stated was spot on in correlation with access to technology in the classroom. The timeline of technology is also really intriguing to look at seeing how the materials used in schools have evolved.

Use the Hightlight extension to highlight important text on specific web pages in different colors! This would be extremely helpful in classrooms, especially when teaching students how to research and find important words and phrases in text!

This definitely seems like a useful tool, not only for teachers but for people who want to share certain parts of an article. I always feel like sharing certain parts of article or stories with friends is tricky to achieve online, but this seems like it would make it much easier, and the fact that there are multiple different colors to choose from makes it that much better

Google Chrome's extension One Tab can be helpful to not only teachers, but people who love to have multiple tabs open at one. This extension allows the user to compile their tabs into a single list clearing up their computer screen making it easier to navigate and sort through the multiple tabs they have open. One of the cool functions this extension performs is allowing a person to export and import their tab list as URLs. It can also allow one to create a webpage from their list of tabs. If a teacher had a bunch of websites they wanted their students to look at they could use this function to send it to them instead of simply listing each website individually. 

I found this post really interesting because this would be something I would definitely use! I get so confused when I have a million tabs open at once, I always click on all of them until I can find the right one. This extension would definitely benefit many students and teachers and keep their lives more organized!

As an educator, it is important to be able to have a variety of different learning tools for your students.

I took a look at this article as well and loved it! I thought the step-by-step instructions to install Chrome extensions was very helpful. I liked the descriptions of the extensions on the Google doc.

This source not only tells you about 15 great chrome extensions, but it also explains how to get and use chrome extensions as well.

I found this article on 11 good Chrome extensions for teachers and students. Overall these were very helpful and apply to a variety of subjects and grade levels. I think that "Stay Focused" is an excellent extension that limits the time on "time wasting" websites. I already downloaded this extension and think teachers would get great use of this and the other listed extensions.

This article discusses the importance of Technology integration. Effective tech integration is achieved when the use of technology becomes second nature or routine and when technology supports goals. Bringing Technology into classrooms will keep the children to engaged which in turn reduce behavioral problems.

This article talks about why technology should be integrated into the curriculum. Technology integration will help students gain the skills they need for our world which is highly technological. Effective technology in the classroom can deepen and enhance the learning process. The are four key components of learning include: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and connection to real-world experts. Learning while using technology allows students to be challenged while also providing an outlook of how an office works. The use of the web also allows students to connect with others around the world. If the technology is integrated into subject areas, the teachers take on different roles as advisers, content experts, and coaches which makes learning more meaningful and fun.

In every minute of our lives technology is being utilized in some kind of way. It is the most engaging tool that been created and what bteter way to teach children then with what they love the most. Technology being integrated into the curriculum is the best thing for the students since they are already glued to different tools. Which makes it an effective learning style. It has enhanced subject areas and the minds of teachers and students. It has created a teacher-student relationship which is far beyond the classrooms. It makes group assignment or individual assignment fun and creative. It has changes everything from how teachers teach, students learn, and different ways of assessment. It provides students with an advantage of how the real world operates on a daily basis. It has also changed how we communicate and how often we now communicate. It has made connecting with other students around the world possible. It gives immediate feedback which keeps students and teachers engaged

This is a great list to use as a resource for Chrome Extensions; not only does it give you 100 examples from simple to complex, they vary in use as well. I liked "Grammarly Lite," which spellchecks your grammar and spelling on the internet, super helpful for future teachers who would like to avoid looking unprofessional in an email when their proofreading simply was not on point that day. "Panic Button" is also good for parents (or teachers, if they prefer to keep their emails and such private), as it hides and locks whatever tabs are on your screen at the time with the click of a button.

This article is great for teachers to take a look at because it gives a list of the top educational Chrome Extensions for 2015. The apps that they list have been teacher tested and approved. Each of the apps listed offer a variety of in-class opportunities for teachers to use. 

SpeakIt! lets you highlight any text from a website and converts it into speech. With latest text-to-speech abilities added to software, reading through lines of text may now become optional for those who prefer a faster, more accessible alternative. The technology extension can detect over 50 languages. In addition to US and UK English, the extension can also translate text into Spanish, Chinese, French, Italian and Russian, to name a few.

I think this is a very cool extension. It will also become very popular in the world of assistive technology for special needs students I think. Some students may have problems reading especially from computer screens and this will help with those issues both in the classroom and at home.

Math and Science students are now using the Madden NFL game for the classroom. Being a division 1 AA football player and now coach of the game, this learning tool is something I would definitely love to use in the classroom and for myself! Electronic Arts will work with NFL Players Association and Discovery Education on a program called EA Sports Madden NFL: Football By The Numbers. The program is for 5th and 9th graders to teach them Math and Science skills. The program will combine football concepts with math and science principles including physics and probability. Different opportunities will be accessible for the kids as well. Students can take field trips to EA Sports Tiburon studio in Orlando to watch the creation of the Madden NFL. NFL players are hopping on board too. NFL players will help promote the program and develop awareness of the learning opportunities. Being a fan of this game, this is very good news. Not only is it incredible that they are using it for academic reasons but I believe accessing knowledge for gaming creation will benefit the game in their future. Every Madden game gets more realistic each year, allowing children to gain greater knowledge of how this system works will increase the future endeavors for the company.
