Australian Money - 9 views

  •
This could be used in a grade here class as revision, as the students in my class would have benefited from this greatly. I like the large pictures of the money and also of what they are buying. It helps to see all of the information easily. Problems may arise when the more vocal students get involved and the struggling students will fly under the radar.
  •
Click and drag the money to represent the amount. Add your own image and amount to each page. 1. suitable for primary school age students 2. Simple to use 3. Works well overall

  • The Apple Watch's new feature is called the "taptic engine", which produces what Apple calls "haptic feedback". Haptics, derived from the Greek haptikos, refers to any form of interaction or communication by touch. The watch's engine allows wearers to set vibrations for various alerts and at adjustable intensity - or to send messages by taps to other users.
  • Ms Watt says the integration of haptics with the watch's map function is its most useful feature and is "definitely awesome for me as a deafblind person". It allows her to be directed around London's complex web of streets and alleys without hearing or sight
  •
Newspaper article about how the new Apple Watch is opening up a range of new possibilities, in particular for a deaf and blind woman. Mentions the Apple Watch's haptic capability - the ability for the device to give feedback via touch. Likely to be the first widely used example of haptics.

Age bracket - Prep- Year 2 Science - English learning area I think this is great, especially as it has the Hungry caterpillar story incorporated as well as using the video story you could use the hard copy of the book as well great theme for the lessons. The only problem I see having is if there are any technology issues with the whiteboard to prevent from using. Otherwise I think this is an excellent resource.

I just completed my assignment 2 on year 4 science.. I thought this was rather fitting. I like how it has numerous games that containers audio aswell. Only problem I can see is that it clearly wouldn't work if the IWB or the stick wasn't working.

Although it's still Google, it only searches through journal articles and other such documents.  While it may only list them for us if we're not willing to pay for access, it's a helpful tool for finding articles that we can then look up in the Library databases to see if we have access.

Though if you've used the "connecting Google Scholar and the library" material pointed to in the learning path, you'll be able to access the papers directly from here (at least the ones that the USQ library has access to)

So glad I learnt how to link Google Scholar and the USQ library. It makes searching so much easier.
