UK based site with a range of activities for history - mostly secondary.  Recently mentioned by the UK Education Secretary (i.e. minister) in a way that shows his limited understanding.

Two short courses (one from primary and one for secondary) the show how to make use of the Learning Activity Types (LATs) to design ICT-enriched lessons and beyond.

As briefly discussed in module one it suggests that as a pre-service teacher we should consider including digital technologies to represent mental/conceptual models to assist in the learning process. I am interested to see how this may be achieved? Have you any ideas how this can be done in an inclusive classroom?

Currently I am teaching in an environment with a diverse group of students learning needs; Years 7-12. I have access to computers, IPad, Digital Projector, Internet the list goes on. E.g. Warm Ups are as a whole group on the whiteboard via the data projector and speakers. We have access to E-Books and Audio E-Books and programs like Reading Eggs for all ages.

Hi Tamara I came across a really simple concept mapping site today, which is very quick and easy to use. Bubbl.us While the same activity can be done in the student's book, so it is not transformative, it is an easy and engaging activity. Many of the students I work with as a teacher aid (mainly ASD and II) love using the computer rather than drawing and writing by hand. They can then download and save their image to their computer or google drive for later use.

Its great to hear people say that we need to work together. I remember years ago a friend of mine (who was a Grade 6 teacher) told me of her frustration when she would encourage her students and they were alive with excitement to learn and explore and the work they handed in was exceptional from her point of view. However, six months into the next year she would be so disappointed because the grades of the Year 7 students would be declining and their attitude was one of apathy. What she wanted to do was to work with the Year 7 teacher so with a combined effort they could assist the students to continue their positive attitude throughout their time at upper primary school. The Year 7 teacher felt threatened and the sad cycle continued. Great ideas for using digital cameras in education

I like the idea for the math concepts. This would also make a good homework activity - ask students to photograph 3D shapes or angles etc.

I love this website. Great ideas and very useful also. I hope you dont mind if I share this. Thanks. Great idea for young children to get introduced to ways you can use a digital camera. Simple things like croping, editing etc.

This site has great interactive and print resources for learning all sorts of things. I used some of these this term for lessons on seasons in a special ed setting and the students were very engaged and learnt well.

I like that this site goes from kindy to adults with math mah-jong and solitaire. A very busy site when you first open it but once you read a bot it is clear to navigate around.

Students perspectives on technology in school / education  

Amazing! During a year 1 class today, I was amazed to see that the children had time for 'free choice learning'. After a spellling activity, the children used their words to continue practiceing by choosing activitiy of their choice.

Stumbled across this website while trying to find out how to integrate ICTs with only an interactive whiteboard in the classroom. Looks like some good reading
