An example of a different approach for the assignment 1 artefact that came through my feeds today.  It's a Wordpress blog that has been used to create a "presentation through hypertext of an alternative vision for a school". Not only is this a good example of trying something different in a webs ite.  It is about re-thinking education influenced, in part, by some of the factors we're talking about in this course. FYI, the clickable image on the front page is implemented using what is called an "imagemap".  Google that term and you'll find some resources/tools that can help

Exploring 150 examples of ICT innovation my favourite is a Web 2.0 tool called ZooBurst. It is a digital storytelling device that enables students to create 3D pop up books.

Not exactly a web2.0 tool, however could be good to engage learners.  Novel approach to getting a topic for narrative writing.

One tool to test/encourage students to check their sources, to look critically at the information they come across on the web.

I have been following educator Martin Burrett@ICTMagic on Twitter for the past 2 weeks as part of my PLN. Recently he has posted this great link to a range of ICT resources for the classroom which I wanted to share with you all.

It's hard to stand out from the crowd as a graduate. This may help when it comes time to apply for jobs.

A great tool that I'd never heard of before. Allows you to integrate a range of video, audio and content from just about anywhere on the web.  

Create interactive timelines.

Create an interactive timeline to share. If you upgrade to the paid teacher edition, lots more features are available including embedding availability.

Utilize Voki as an effective language tool (Text-to-speech in over 25 languages) Create talking avatars for use in web quests and blogs etc.
