As a fan and enthusiastic user of IT in classes, I have just started a course: ICT in Primary Education: Transforming children's learning across the curriculum. It is a free course at www.coursera.org I will start recording some tools available online. Take a look at them and free your imagination to use them in your lessons.

Hello! I am glad to be here. I just have known this free course so I immediately enrolled. I am happy that I will be learning a lot especially in dealing with the 21st century learners. I need to enhance my skills in learning when and how to use and integrate ICT in the teaching-learning process!

ZooBurst is a digital storytelling tool that lets anyone easily create his or her own 3D pop-up books. ZooBurst books "live" online and can be experienced on your desktop or laptop computer, or on your iPad via the free ZooBurst mobile app. Authors can arrange characters and props within a 3D world that can be customized using uploaded artwork or items found in a built-in database of over 10,000 free images and materials.

You can crop a video, add your voice, embed quizzes and upload your video. This is a great tool to edit any video you locate online. Easy to use as well.

I stopped to read the provided key points about screen time for kids together with its corresponding article because, it has been always a topic in my mind when friends share their disapproval about TV watching. I always back up my thoughts by considering that the problem is not the amount of screen they have but, the purpse for its use. Unfortunately, I believe many parents use TV or simile, as baby sitters, this I consider negative. While reading these articlaes, my ideas became clearer and on paper! Technology, many times neglected by old-fashioned teaching teachers, is often considered in the same way and, I truly believe that it must be also considered something positive, enhancing and motivating if used wisely.

Besides all the online applications, programs, tools and games .. screen time is equally important for kids. The article also rejects the myths that parents and teachers have in minds regarding screen time. This perspective can be changed in to positivity by by proper monitoring of kids during screen time.

In this video, Patrick Halpin, Donabate-Portrane Educate Together National School, shows how he uses Photostory with 4th class. Working in groups, the pupils create a photostory presentation on how to create origami flowers. They will use this presentation to teach origami to junior classes.

I like working on Photostory and it's really a great software that can help in encouraging children in their story writings.

Hi Florian, we have been using Photostory with Year 3 and Year 4's (7 - 9 years olds) for a couple of years. It's such a fantastic publishing tool and so easy to use with lovely animations and music. Thanks for sharing.
