Soundwalk Blog: Eintrag vom 14. Nov. "The Ulysses Syndrome is a sound journey. Following the route of Ulysses along the Mediterranean Sea, we return 3000 years later. Without being seen, hundreds of millions of soundwaves are constantly flying over the surface of the water. Equipped with radio scanners, we have spent the last few months casting a 10 mile net from our boat into the sky, collecting sound fragments, bringing them back in. What you are now hearing is the fresh fish of the day, Tunisian police along the coast, Sri Lankan cargo ships passing by, Libyan fisherman, all radio frequencies popular and obscure, from submarines below, and airplanes above."

Interactive Radio: Exploring Visitors Stories using a Radio Interface: << ROOM OF OPINION>> Retracing the past: exploring objects, stories, mysteries (June 2003) was an exhibition held in the Hunt Museum The Hunt Museum and the Interaction Design Centre of The University of Limerick, in Ireland, jointly developed this exhibition. At that exhibition there was a Room of pinion where visitiors coul leave a message about the nature and possible use of some mysterious objects. Comments were collected, and visitors could listen to them in rel time through a radio in the Sudy room. The sound of earlier opinions also generated a sort of murmur that was heard in the same room. Comments were made using an interactive telephone. A visual analogue of the prcess of storing the comments could be seen in a dynamic graühic display representing a visual trace of these opinions. "UK Museums on the Web 2009: The everyday web: situated, sensory, social" Today, the Web is becoming increasingly a more multi-sensory place, with new visual interfaces, rich sound content, where content can adapt to our physical location, and even where interactions can be triggered by bodily movement. Likewise, software and services (just like our content) can today move with us. This year UKMW will look at digital heritage in the everyday - situated, sensory, social.

Specifically, these museum guides are an outgrowth of a recent podcasting trend called "sound seeing," in which people record narrations of their travels - walking on the beach, wandering through the French Quarter - and upload them onto the Internet for others to enjoy. In that spirit, the creators of the unauthorized guides to the Modern have also invited anyone interested to submit his or her own tour for inclusion on the project's Web site, mod.blogs.com/art_mobs.
