The Return of Incentive Travel: Using the Hotel PMS to Manage and Grow Guest Loyalty in... - 0 views

  • A strong loyalty program may be just what is necessary for hotels to implement to recover bookings lost in the shuffle during 2020 and beyond.
  • hotels must be prepared to offer more than this in the long run.

  • Traditionally, hotels’ go-to amenity for customer loyalty is access to free Wi-Fi.
  • Loyalty programs excel at setting logical expectations for a guests’ stay, improving their overall experience and enticing others to join.
  • Hotels should also offer incentives for repeat bookings, such as free nights to credits at the hotel restaurant, premium guestroom amenities, hotel spa, gift shop, room upgrades, and other services based on the hotel and its location.
  • enable hoteliers to cut down on the number of third-party services they work with to offer a high-quality guest experience while also eliminating transaction fees associated with the program.
  • ese programs feed off (and into) nearly every department within a hotel, therefore strong internal organization —
  • By blending both immediate guest gratification with long-term incentive goals, and keeping guests engaged by meeting and exceeding their expectations during their on-property experiences, hotels and resort groups can help create a new era of traveler loyalty.
  •
This article explains how PMS, property management system, is integrated to manage and grow customer loyalty independent hotels. It is no secret that some of the best loyalty programs keep guests coming back to the same company/hotel. They attract these guests by incorporating a strong loyalty program that provides rewards, incentives, and exclusive access to certain amenities. It is believed that this is what is needed to attract more bookings that were lost during the pandemic in 2020 up until today. The way to most effectively do so is by integrating a PMS system that allows guests to grow the relationship with the hotel during every transaction and interaction they have prior to, during, and post their stay. There needs to be much more than free wi-fi integrated in hotels as loyalty access as it is becoming so popular that it is not considered an exclusive access feature. Hotels should offer incentives for those who book repeatedly, like free nights, credits at the hotel's restaurant, premium guestroom amenities, hotel spa, and much more. Guests like to feel special, and doing so will guarantee their return to this hotel brand as they want to indulge in this experience every single time.

Nail The Basics Of Cybersecurity With Multifactor Authentication (MFA) - 0 views

  • When it comes to the basics of cybersecurity, nothing is so elemental as the password.

  • Enter multifactor authentication (MFA). By adding extra layers of security to a user's login process and requiring they enter two or more pieces of evidence (e.g., factors) to prove they are who they say they are,

  • 1. Passwords alone are no longer enough to protect against security attacks.
  • it's critical every company apply effective security measures to protect their data.
  • to protect business and customer data, it begins and ends with preventing unauthorized account access.
  • MFA is the most direct and effective way to do that.
  • A familiar example of MFA at work is the two factors needed to withdraw money from an ATM.
  • Your ATM card is the something that you have, and your PIN is the something you know.
  • companies can require all employees to verify their identities with two or more pieces of evidence to prove they are who they say they are.
  • 2. Companies around the world (from Fortune 500s to small businesses) are feeling the urgency to adopt MFA — but a knowledge gap persists.
  • It's imperative companies invest in training employees on how using MFA is essential to securing access to both work and personal accounts.

  • By recognizing any technical, change management and financial challenges to user adoption, committing to open communication, and providing the resources and training your employees need, any business can conquer that fear of the unknown.
  • When adopting MFA, prioritize identifying the strongest and most user-friendly authentication method possible for your organization.

  • With options like hardware keys, you often see employees run into issues losing, replacing or breaking them. But a (TOTP) mobile app can be continuously updated in ways that make the MFA process more seamless (e.g, an app that verifies automatically from trusted locations like an employee's home office).

  •
Hotel certified wedding planners and event and catering managers can promote social media walls to weddings, social groups, and business conventions to not only enhance the guests' hotel experience, but to also generate organic UGC (user generated content) to use in its social media marketing strategy. A relatively minimal amount of hardware is required as building a social wall can be accomplished with either an LCD projector or LED screens and a social media aggregator tool. Hotels can create new revenue streams for their F&B Department.

  • Beacons are special AR technologies that use low Bluetooth connections to communicate with users’ smartphones.
  • At present, hotels make up the majority of the businesses taking up this technology. They place beacons on physical objects and strategic locations such as hallways and lobbies. The technology enables visitors to receive real-time information on hotel activities, special offers and more. Beacons have a number of other uses too, such as allowing guests to unlock their rooms or streamlining the check-in process.

I chose this article because it has good examples of how AR and VR has the possibility to change the guest experience in the hospitality industry. It also talks about beacon technology that has been used by companies for marketing purposes. Using bluetooth technology and by placing small devices through out a hotel property, hotels can send signals to guests devices that generate suggestions or things to do, places to eat or even to have digital keys for their rooms

  • outfitting visiting vendors to the hotel with ID cards containing beacons so as to keep track of their whereabouts.
  •
Beacon technology is an important part of a personalized eMarketing strategy. The technology pings guests through an app to solicit a financial transaction. This increases app engagement and app retention and increases brand loyalty when done right. This article points out some uses for beacon technology beyond the obvious goal of driving sales into hotel restaurants, spas, or golf courses. Hotels have been successful using the technology in tracking hotel assets (i.e. luggage carts and room service trays), to tracking vendors on property, to determining which employee is most able to quickly deliver an item to a guest. I think beacon technology, when integrated with a PMS, could be used to increase loyalty program enrollment by identifying non-member guests and prompting them to enroll at opportune times during their stay (i.e. right after check-in or just prior to check-out).

With Airbnb, it is a solution to embrace the flexibility of its clientele and the CTO, an opportunity to increase revenue in the Caribbean destination, diversifying the way they do business while offering the sun, sand, and sea. This disruptive innovation will undoubtedly change immigration policies in accepting longer than previously allowed visitor stays and could see reduced nightly rates and discounts. How it can go green and Green initiatives - 1 views

  •
Opportunities for adopting green initiatives are becoming more and more common in the hospitality industry. IT updates and implementations have become a sustainable practice to reduce cost, provide a better guest satisfaction and environmentally friendly. One of the ways to start off the green initiatives is by effectively reducing energy and paper consumption; this gets done by using smart phones to replace key cards and using emails to reduce paper flow. Another green initiative is the effective technology practice such as energy star which is the system that powers down a computer automatically after it has not been used for a period of time. The use of digital media (social media) instead of print media is a fantastic way to save money while lowering the impact on the environment. Green initiatives are coming up pretty fast and are required to have a strong commitment but all vary depending on the size of organization, demand of business and location of doing business. I have seen many hotels implementing green initiatives in their facilities which at first can become extremely costly but in the long term very cost effective and environmentally friendly and expand the guest experience. I have seen hotels that have a HVAC system which senses the presence of someone in the room, this system puts the AC temperature high when room is vacant and lowers the temperature when it is occupied. Additionally the lighting of the room works the same; it turns on when someone is present and automatically turns off when the room is vacant. Just these two initiatives alone can save the property millions of dollars in a period of a year. In my opinion, going green is a great way to benefit every one involved, the guest, the environment, and cost efficient (long term) for hoteliers. The green initiative has not yet been a giant boom, but in a few years a larger amount of guest will prefer to stay in a green environmental friendly hotel then with a non green hotel. I believ

Green computer science is definite as "the study or practice of eco-friendly computing or IT." This type of computing, while growing around the world and being a large part of the overall energy consumption, the problems with that grow as well. With the e-waste that comes with computing, green or otherwise, it is becoming more important than ever to try and find other ways of eco-friendly computing in order to combat the a,punt of e-waste that is produced as a result of the computing. The article highlights 3 different ways of eco-friendly to make sure you are doing your part and it also includes a symbol or brand to look for to make sure that the computer you do use or plan to use is eco-friendly as well. The secondary ways are as follows: 1. Dynamic power scaling which is a technique that allows a drastic reduction in the working rate or frequency of a microprocessor or link interfaces to reduce energy consumption and generation of heat by the chip. 2. Virtualization is a modern IT paradigm which allows separation of technology implementations and computing functions from physical hardware, while cloud computing is virtualization of computer programs via the internet. 3. Using terminal servers is a green computing technique that allows multiple users to connect to a central server, which performs all the processing; however, each user experiences the system on his or her terminal. Finally, the brand or symbol to look for on the computer to make sure that it is eco friendly and consume less power is the Energy Star located on products. In addition, it's not just for laptops; it's for computer monitors, printers, and desktops as well.

A hotel’s reputation is staked largely on the guest experience, and investing in proper security services plays a central role in ensuring guests feel safe and protected. It also protects owners from the damages and costs that may arise from criminal activity such as theft.
  • Security officers patrolling the hotel’s grounds can look out for suspicious activity. Hotels should have security officers regularly patrol the hallways, stairwells, lobbies, parking lots, restaurants and bars.

  • In addition, the presence of security officers at a hotel can make guests and employees feel safer and more at ease. Many hotel guests are in an unfamiliar location, and this sense of security can increase their satisfaction with the hotel.
  • Security officers on the premises of a hotel can react appropriately and rapidly when emergencies occur. In the case of a fire, they can help evacuate guests and maintain order. In a shooting or other act of violence, they can stop the perpetrator and protect guests and staff from danger. They can also provide valuable assistance and information to law enforcement when they arrive on the scene.
