These documents reflect our diversity and our unity, our past and our future, and mostly our commitment as a nation to continue to strive to "form a more perfect union."

"The American Social History Project/Center for Media and Learning is dedicated to renewing interest in history by challenging traditional ways that people learn about the past. Founded in 1981 and based at the City University of New York Graduate Center, ASHP/CML produces print, visual, and multimedia materials that explore the richly diverse social and cultural history of the United States. We also lead professional development seminars that help teachers to use the latest scholarship, technology, and active learning methods in their classrooms. "

Seems to have a few sources in there, strong ideological agenda aside. Might be good for teaching the history of the poor or minorities.

A vast collection on the business history of the United States since its inception.

From its inception, Baker Library has collected rare and unique materials that focus on the evolution of business and industry. Spanning seven centuries, the collections include manuscripts, rare books, pamphlets, broadsides, photographs, prints, advertising ephemera, and corporate reports. These rich and varied collections support research in a remarkably diverse range of fields.

Good as an overview or basic introduction for students.

Another one of the excellent collections provided by the Library of Congress. Gotta love 'em.

The By the People, For the People: Posters from the WPA, 1936-1943 collection consists of 908 boldly colored and graphically diverse original posters produced from 1936 to 1943 as part of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal.

* Lawrence Royal & Cabinet Collections The Lawrence Collection consists of 40,000 glass plate negatives from 1870-1914. The images were produced commercially and capture topographical scenes of that period throughout Ireland. The entire Lawrence Royal collection (10,784 plates) and part of the Lawrence Cabinet collection (2,040 plates) are available here to view online. * Poole Whole Plate Collection The Poole collection comprises 65,000 glass plate negatives and was created by the family firm of A.H. Poole in Waterford between 1884-1954. The majority of images in the collection are studio portraits but the Poole Whole Plate subset which consists of 5,119 images, reflects the diversity of the collection with studio portraits, social and political events and also images of architecture and industry in the south east of Ireland. * Independent H Collection The Independent Newspaper collection of some 300,000 images, is made up of glass plates, plastic negatives and a small number of prints. The Independent H collection is a subset of the collection and contains 3,250 glass plates negatives dating from 1912-1936. It provides a record of many aspects of 20th century Irish life, and is particularly strong in the coverage of politics and sport in Ireland.

A wide collection of images and documents (mainly newspapers, I think) on Irish life in the C19th and C20th.

It's hard to tag something like this well - sorry about that. Will be a diverse collection of images of US life from the mid-19th century.

Since the invention of photography in 1839, libraries, museums, research institutes, and academic departments at Harvard and Radcliffe have created and collected photographs for use in research and instruction. Among these millions of images are more than 3,500 daguerreotypes, the first publicly-announced photographic process

This is an enormous, diverse collection of images and audio files based around US history. It's a very eclectic collection so tagging was difficult. If you're doing anything on American culture this would probably be helpful.

A diverse collection of resources on the history of South Asia (mainly the Indian subcontinent).

An excellent collection for research into the medieval period. Contains extensive descriptions of the manuscripts along with detailed accompanying information and is easily searchable. An enormous and diverse collection. Gotta love those Benedictines in Minnesota.

A collection of high-quality images organised under an eclectic variety of topics. They cover an enormous and extensive diversity of topics.

A thorough and diverse collection of primary sources on the Holocaust.

An extensive collection of online sources and resources related to a diversity of aspects of the Medieval Period. In other words heaps of stuff.

Primary sources devoted to helping people understand why the C20th was a time of such visceral conflict. If you believe Niall Ferguson it had to do with ethnic diversity in regions of deteriorating economic conditions and declining imperial control. My high school history teacher reckoned it was ideologies. Many of you will no doubt have other ideas...
