I am conducting some general Market Research in relation to launching a new National mobile Museum Service that will provide a dynamic and flexible on-line and remotely accessible Museum service to schools, colleges and community/interest groups.
I am interested in gauging general interest amongst History school teachers, as to whether a web resource and handling objects/loans boxes/teaching resources/talks etc direct to your school door would be of interest? The collection of genuine artefacts is my private collection of Kitchenalia covering the history of Kitchens from Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and WWII/Post War. Many areas of the curriculum will be covered. At this stage I would really appreciate some feedback about this type of provision. Is this something History teachers would find useful/prepared to pay for (in line with other current Museum outreach services)? I have an established twenty year career of working in the Heritage sector. This has included diverse roles as a Museum Education practitioner at senior level, to front-line personnel caring for and monitoring collections in a historic house environment. Please do respond with your opinions/thoughts. Thank you.
