Parallel Archive (PA), an "invented" archive repository accessible for everybody wishing to upload primary sources, is developed by the Open Society Archives (OSA) at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. PA is, "at once a personal scholarly workspace, a collaborative research environment, and a digital repository".

Has primary sources uploaded by people who have registered with the site in many European languages, including English. Come to think of it, is English a European language anymore? Interesting...

Comprehensive feeds of the lectures put online by Oxford University. Useful for senior students for homework activities or research.

I just had a look at the month-long free trial and this looks like a great resource for lessons or student research on history and geography. I'm waiting to receive a quote on how much an annual subscription costs. Subscriptions like this, I believe, can become excellent substitutes for textbooks.

My school has I believe all the ABC-CLIO Databases and I recommend them highly. They come out of our library budget. All teachers should at least try a free trial.

Might be useful for younger classes looking at Korean history and society in the Joseon Period. There usually isn't much on the topic.

Animated maps showing the imperial history of the Middle East and the spread of religions. The graphics are beautiful and provide a simple overview of the broad sweep of history. I've found these useful at the start of a unit/semester/term to provide a general introduction. My students think they need a hard rock track in the background as a soundtrack...

This is the blog which accompanies the podcast Stuff You Missed in History Class. Like just about all History podcasts, it's easily found through iTunes. My students have found the format on SYMIHC as user-friendly and valuable for their research. Worth a listen.
