Male requires more water than female because body fat of male is less as compared to female, also the amount of energy spent by a male is higher than female. Men require about 3 liters of water in a day i.e 0.79 gallons (12 Cups) whereas Women require 2.2 liters of water in a day i.e 0.58 gallons (9 Cups). Fruits, Vegetables, Smoothies, Milk, Herbal teas contain lots of water. Although water is best as it's zero calories and freely available. According to the weight of an individual one must drink half an ounce of water for every pound they weigh. Carry your water bottle where ever you go. Our body losses water in the form of saliva, urine, sweat, breathing, etc. This leads to a large amount of water loss from the body. So, to keep yourself, hydrated one must have more intake of water. Kids should have more water to keep them healthy. As it will help them to stay the active full day. Kids have more activities such as going to school, study, playing, etc as compared to adults. So, for the perfect growth of child parents should take care of their water intake.

Bottled water and tap water can and should co-exist. Neither the government nor the private sector should have an exclusively monopoly on the water supply. Hence the reason we have anti-monopoly laws in this country. Giving either sector a monopoly on water simply affords too much control and power over the masses as water is a life critical resource. Remember that our Constitution was founded on the premise of Checks and Balances. There is no balance if the government controls the water supply exclusively. Therefore, banning the private sector from selling water is not only setting a bad precedent and is clearly anti-Capitalism, it's also a path to Socialism.

MYTH: BOTTLED WATER COMPANIES ARE DRAINING WATER SUPPLIES. FACT According to a 2005 study by the Drinking Water Research Foundation (DWRF), annual bottled water production accounts for less than 2/100 of one percent (0.02%) of the total groundwater withdrawn in the United States each year. Additionally, based on information gathered in the DWRF study, in 2001, 87% of the water withdrawn by bottled water companies, on average, was actually bottled for consumption by humans, so the bottling process is a very efficient one.

Some groups have sought to frame drinking water issues as a "bottled water versus tap water debate" and that confuses consumers. Consumers are not uniformly replacing their public drinking water with bottled water; rather they are choosing bottled water over the other beverages available at the store and home.

MYTH: THERE IS ONLY ONE STAFFER AT THE FDA WHO OVERSEES REGULATION OF THE ENTIRE BOTTLED WATER INDUSTRY. FACT The FDA management of the bottled water program is based out of the FDA/Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), located in College Park, Maryland. In addition to staff directly responsible for oversight of bottled water, CFSAN has over 800 employees, including highly specialized professionals such as chemists, microbiologists, toxicologists, food technologists, molecular biologists, pharmacologists, nutritionists, and physicians. While these individuals and their staffs oversee regulatory enactment and enforcement of the bottled water industry, the significant work is done by both FDA regional offices in the United States and the states themselves. Inspections and enforcement all happen in these locations, not in College Park. All 50 states have delegation agreements with FDA, meaning that when they inspect a bottled water plant (or ANY food processing facility) they act with the full authority of the FDA.
