Marathi remake of Khoon Bhari Maang on its way! - 0 views

  • Since the remaking trend is at its peak in Bollywood, Why must Marathi Film industry left behind? Remakes of southern films are working wonders in Bollywood. Many A-list actors such as Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn seem to prefer remakes of popular south films as they have proved to be successful in Bollywood too.Debutant director Anup Jagdale is all set to make his first debut Marathi feature film titled Bharla Malwat Rakhtaana. Insiders claimed the film to be an Official remake of Rekha starrer 1998 cult hit Khoon Bhari Maang which was about a wealthy widow who is almost killed by her lover and sets out for revenge. The film was a comeback venture for Rekha in that year and was a critical and commercial success. It was said when Rakesh Roshan started shooting this film, Many close friends warned him about the project being Risky as it had no commercial 'Hero-Angle' in the film. "My film is about a woman who is cheated and betrayed and she is almost killed only to bounce back for a Brutal Revenge rampage Marathi Cinema will ever see. I will not speak further about the film as i want the audience to enjoy my final product." said first timer Anup Jagdale. The casting of the film is also kept under-wraps, However it is confirmed that acclaimed Marathi actor Milind Shinde will enact the character of Shatrughan Sinha.The Trade and the Media is curious to know about the actress playing the role of Rekha. Few names such as Sai Tamhankar and Sonalee Kulkarni bumped in, but director Anup Jagdale remained lip-tight about the actress.The poster of the film also carries just the name of the film along with main credits. The shoot of the film is going on at the locales of Maharashtra and the film is all set to release on 1st December 2013.

  • Buzz from Tinseltown has that Jackie Chan has joined the brigade, which intends to fight against the massacre of elephants for ivory producing as he has come up in support of the Canada-Germany co-production Gambling on Extinction.It is learnt that documentary would be presented by Real to Reel Productions and German partner a&o buero film production.For those unaware, it looks into the matter where the illegal trade of wildlife products takes place, such as ivory, rhino horn and tiger parts. "Everyone should dispel the myths that ivory jewelry and carvings are made from tusks that have fallen off the elephant or from elephants that have died of natural causes," said Chan."This is simply not true. Elephants are being hunted and killed for their tusks. The only way to stop the slaughter is to cut the demand. We are all consumers, so we can all make a difference," he added. Meanwhile, Real to Reel producer Anne Pick, on his part said, "I know Jackie supports many worthy causes, and we, along with our German partners at a&o buero, couldn't be happier about his support for our film and this international wildlife crisis."For those unaware, the documentary has been sold to ZDF in Germany, W5 and Animal Planet in Canada, France's ARTE, SBS in Australia and Sweden's SVT.Already looking forward to it!

"I am not part of the rat race. At the end of the day, I know I did it on my own without a mentor, godfather or recommendations," Vishakha said. "I have seen the lows of the career very early on and have come to the conclusion that a Friday can change everything.   • Filmmaker Punit Malhotra, whose directorial Gori Tere Pyaar Mein releases soon, says that he wanted the film to be a two-hero two-heroine, and for the same, he wanted Saif Ali Khan to be the other hero, besides Imran Khan. "At one point of time this film was a two hero-two heroine subject. I only went to the boys. It was Saif and Imran. But for some reasons that didn't work out. I then made it into a solo hero film," says Punit. After making debut with I Hate Luv Storys, Punit took quite long to come up with his next."Imran made me wait a lot. I took three drafts to him, he had issues with first and second draft. When I went for the third time, he approved the first draft only. That led to the delay but I have no complaints," said Punit. Meanwhile, rumours had that Shahid Kapoor was approached for the project.Speaking on the same, Punit said that he did approach another actor, but denied naming him. "Imran initially rejected it, so I went to another actor, but that didn't work out and I made the changes in the script and went back to Imran and then he liked the first draft itself," he said.He also revealed that Saif rejected the offer. "Things with Saif never worked out, but he said take Kareena. We also felt at some point that there is too much happening, so we mellowed it down and made it one hero film," Punit said."We were first waiting for Imran's approval and after that happened, we started thinking about the female lead opposite him. Imran asked me who I wanted, I said Kareena but I felt she was beyond my reach," the director said."Also she had lot of projects in hand at that time. Then it so happened that she walked out of those projects and her dates opened up. I called her, narrated the script and it worked out well," he said. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein releases on November 22!

In fact, the film created a whole lot news and speculation even before we began shooting. I remember we were in Bangalore for the shooting in two languages English and Hindi. Dharamji (her co-star Dharmendra) and I were burning the midnight oil. When we were not shooting, he was with his English tutor brushing up his English dialogues, and I was with my Hindi tutor improving my Hindi,” Zeenat recalled.Zeenat added that Krishna was caring person who always made sure all of us were comfortable. “He loved cinema. I remember once when we met, he spent considerable time speaking of my cameo in Bhopal Express. He would always be excited about the next film that he was doing, and then the one after that... He would discuss the movies he wanted me to be in.”The film Shalimar might not have worked at the box office, but the songs by RD Burman play on to this day. They were like Aaina Wohi Rehta Hai, Hum Bewafaa Hargiz Na The and One Two Cha Cha Cha.
