Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu starrer Besharam has slipped at the box-office despite a good opening. Directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyup, the film was released on October 2 over 3600 screens across the India and 700 screens overseas. Trade experts say that the movie had a good opening, but couldn’t retain the footfalls on the subsequent days.Not only critics disliked the film, but audience was not too impressed with the movie and given feedback that with Besharam, Ranbir sinks to a low. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh termed the collection of the film at box office an epic disappointment. He Tweeted, “Besharam (earned) Wednesday Rs.21.56 crore, Thursday Rs.7.13 crore, Friday Rs.5.68 crore, Saturday Rs.5.94 crore. Total is Rs.40.31 crore net. Epic disappointment!”He updated, “Besharam collects 47.31 net in its 5-day opening weekend [Wed to Sun]: Wednesday 21.56 crore, Thursday 7.13 crore, Friday 5.68 crore, Saturday 5.94 crore, Sunday 7 crore.” Also starring newcomer Pallavi Sharda, Besharam was made at a budget of Rs.60 crore in addition to the cost of promotions, marketing and advertising. “First day was good, but second day onwards the performance of the film has drastically dropped. Even on weekend, I don’t see any improvement,” Puneet Sahay of Spice Cinemas said.It is co-produced by Himanshu Mehra, Sanjeev Gupta and Reliance Entertainment.

B-town actor Akshaye Khanna is the latest victim of fraudulent investment schemes, as buzz states that he has been duped of Rs. 50 lakh after he was insured of quick return from an investment scheme in the commodity market.All of this was confirmed by a police official on Sunday, as the complaint has been filed at the Malabar Hill police station. "Yes, a complaint was registered at our police station on Friday evening by Akshaye Khanna's lawyer. The current status is that the crime branch is investigating the case. Once we get any update, we can speak on that," senior inspector Vinay Bagade told media. For those unaware, Akshay has filed the complaint against Satyabrata Chakravarty and his wife Sona, president and director, respectively, of Intech Images Private Ltd, who are the prime accused of duping him of Rs. 50 lakh, after promising him that they would double it in 45 days after investing it in the commodity market. Akshaye is elder son of veteran actor Vinod Khanna, and his brother Rahul Khanna is also quite active in the film industry, Akshaye has been seen in films like Taal, Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz, Hulchul and Gandhi, My Father. His last release was Gali Gali Chor Hai!

Young director Punit Malhotra, I Hate Luv Storys fame, is working with filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for the second time. He is completing in Karan’s impression and praises him as an easygoing producer.He is collaborated with Karan again for Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, which stars Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. Speaking about the work pattern of KJo’s production unit, Punit said, “As a producer Karan is lenient enough to give you whatever you want. The advantage is that he is also a director. As far as the space is concerned, he didn't come on the sets even once. As a producer, he gives you everything you want.”Earlier, Punit has attended Karan as his assistant in his hit film Kal Ho Na Ho and Dostana. About his upcoming directorial, he says GTPM is a wholesome entertainment which pulls a universal audience. But he is not targeting Rs.100-crore marks. “Rs.100 crore depends on a lot of factors. The canvas of the film leads it to that zone. Ours is definitely not in that zone. It's a fun film,” concluded Punit.Gori Tere Pyaar Mein is releasing on November 22 and the lead actors are currently busy in promotional activities. They have visited television shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil, Kone Banega Crorepati among mores.
