Films capture journeys but in Imtiaz Ali's much-awaited Highway, the journey has made the film. Presented by Sajid Nadiadwala and starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, the film traverses six states of north India and captures the landscape of the different regions as it goes along.Highway Diaries, are short video snippets that capture the journey of the film and all the exciting experiences that the cast and crew had during its making.In the latest episode of Highway Diaries titled 'Songs of the Valley', Imtiaz Ali is seen sitting with gujari folk singer Begum Jaan and her group, engrossed in  their music, while shooting for' Highway' at Aru valley in Kashmir. He says, “...while it (the song) should connect with the larger experience that Veera (Alia's character) has in the film, it should still be about that time and place..and its music."The film comes out in February!

They have just crossed Haryana and the director Imtiaz Ali and his team savour the daal-roti at a dhaba near the Haryana-Rajasthan border check-post. Pointing towards the check-post, Imtiaz Ali says, “We have just crossed into Rajasthan and in that distance I think the texture of the food has changed”.Highway will release on February 21st 2014!

The cute and chirpy beauty Alia Bhatt made a name for herself in the Bollywood industry debuting here with Karan Johar’s directorial Student of the Year. She was fabulous in the movie, and everyone loved her effortless fashion sense.Now, she is all set to be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway, which releases in December, and is latest’s most ambitious project till date. Alia’s fans have a lot of expectations from this film of hers, which is going to be the second release of her career.Soon after that she would be seen in Karan Johar’s 2 States, and a film with Varun Dhawan. So needless to say, she has a lot of big films in her kitty, and besides there are many brand endorsements. However, despite that she doesn’t think of herself as a star."I don't have much acting experience. I am not a star. I am learning... there is a long way to go. As of now I am dependent on my directors," she said, while launching the new range with Maybelline. Praising her Highway co-star Randeep Hooda, she said, "He is a great actor and helped me a lot, he made me feel comfortable. Though he is senior, he is as young as I am. It is just a perception that he is older. Rather, there were times when I was acting older and saying don't do this or that."She is also impressed with Arjun Kapoor, with whom she stars in 2 States, and think of him as extremely supportive. "He is a great actor, I loved him in Ishaqzaade. He is an amazing person. He helped me in preparing for the role," said Alia.Have a go, girl!

With three super-star looking young actors, one of the catchy storyline and a team who did every good thing to change its fate, Student of The Year was released in the same month last year 2012. Director Karan Johar feels proud that all of his highlighted actors, including Alia Bhatt, Sana Seed, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra are doing extremely well in the industry.Karan tweeted, “SOTY completes a year today! I am really proud of my three students and the entire cast and crew of this young, fun and special film of my career,” Karan posted on Twitter on Saturday (October 19, 2013). Student Of The Year released on October 19, 2012.The film proved to be a good launch-pad for its three lead actors, who managed to pocket plum Bollywood projects post the film's release.  Alia, daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, will be seen in Imitiaz Ali's Highway and Abhishek Verman's 2 States. Thanking Karan, Alia tweeted, “SOTY completes one year and so do I.. one year since I've been in the industry! Thank you Karan Johar for giving us the perfect break.”Based on a school competition, the romantic-comedy revolves around the lives of three college students, played by mentioned actors. Son of filmmaker David Dhawan, Varun is working on his father's Main Tera Hero, while model-turned-actor Siddharth has just finished shooting Hasee Toh Phasee. He also has Ekta Kapoor's The Villain in his kitty.Kudos guys!
