Get the Glass is a game produced by the California Milk Processor Board. Obviously, the game is designed to promote milk consumption. The game takes students on a journey with the milk-deprived Adachi family as they try to break into "Fort Fridge" where they will find an unlimited supply of milk. Throughout the game students will learn about the benefits of drinking milk and making healthy beverage choices. Applications for Education Get the Glass could be a fun and educational game for elementary school and middle school health classes. The game could be used as an individual learning experience for students that finish other health class assignments before their peers. Get the Glass could also be a fun way to introduce a nutrition lesson.

I've been researching and writing about Information Fluency since the turn of the century. My work is published on the 21st Century Information Fluency Portal: http://21cif.imsa.edu You'll find modular online learning content including games, micromodules and assessments on the portal. (Free for all educators.) I include information fluency training in all of my online classes. I introduce power searching and website investigation to the graduate students studying in the E-Learning and Online Teaching Certificate Program at UW-Stout ( http://www.uwstout.edu/soe/profdev/elearningcertificate.html ) because I believe that Information Fluency is a foundation skill for all online teachers and learners.

I use Skype and enjoy the free functionality. It's far from perfect, but has a place in my e-learning toolkit. (I've also used Jah-Jah to call my daughter in Thailand and was very pleased with this alternate take on internet telephony.) Like all things tech, Skype could go. As this article shows, the big hitting billionaires who run the show are in dispute. If i have to switch, so be it! Will Google Voice move into this space? Who knows? Wait and see as the future unrolls on a daily basis

Thanks to Mr. Mayo's 8th graders, who made the suggestion, and Mark Wagner's prompting to create a wiki -- here is a wiki for interested people to start dreaming about a Google school in connectioin with Google's 10 to the 100th project. The deadline is Oct. 20. Basic guidelines are: * Reach: How many people would this idea affect? * Depth: How deeply are people impacted? How urgent is the need? * Attainability: Can this idea be implemented within a year or two? * Efficiency: How simple and cost-effective is your idea? * Longevity: How long will the idea's impact last?

This tutorial will show you how to use Google Docs word processor for blogging a live event - it could be a keynote address or a conference call with media or someone speaking at a local BarCamp in your city. To get started you would need a laptop computer, a free Google account and few inches of free space to sit (or stand) in the conference room. OK, we are now ready to roll.

Many of the participants in the UW-Stout E-Learning and Online Teaching Graduate Certificate Program use Google Sites to create their e-portfolios.  The portfolios are created and used throughout the program. During the practicum, when students become teachers by teaching in one of our graduate classes, they also refine and polish their portfolios. Ultimately the online portfolio becomes a job search tool that helps our graduates show a potential employer what they know.

As we explore the idea of a digital footprint and identity we must consider that at some point we want to our students to own their work and accomplishments and showcase them to a variety of audiences. If I'm Tanner or Tanner's parents I want as many people as possible to know of his accomplishments. I immediately sent out my concerns about our policy to our school technology representatives and one of the school leaders,
