Part of the University of Georgia's College of Education Initiative on Innovation in Teaching and Technology (ITT), this page links to presentations in the Innovation 20/20 series. Each topic is a 20 minute presentation on a specific innovation, followed by a 20 minute discussion period. Topics range from more reflective teaching (e.g. Using Metaphor to Explore Teaching and Learning) to using specific tools or strategies (Designing and Implementing an Undergraduate Blogging Community in EDIT 2000 or Motivating Students with Google Tools and More). Navigation on this page also points users to Innovation Resources, Innovation News, and the Discovery Series (another set of online videos).

Website of the online journal, published at Bowling Green State University. The journal publishes on the theoretical and the practical, as well as articles covering professional development and reviews of relevant products/apps.

A series of math tutorials by "qualified, creative individuals." The tutorials are relatively short, and broken down into single concepts. Teachers are invited to share their own videos. Unfortunately, though the tagline says "Choose your lesson. Choose your teacher," it is difficult to find citations/teacher credits for individual lessons.

An alternative to Khan Academy a series of videos to help explain mathematical concepts to your students.

Published by Noodle Education (July 2012), an excellent "lay-person" explanation of API, along with a list of the the 10 best education-related APIs (according to Noodle). This page also has a link to Noodle's full directory of education-related APIs.

This site, run by teacher Jennie Dougherty, tries to connect edtech start-ups with faculty for real-life user testing.

In addition to the rigorous training that it takes to get to the top, Harrison also had to deal with ongoing sexual abuse from the coach she had as a teen. Eventually, Harrison testified against her predator.

Not only a local hero to SS, Harrison was his student (at the time, he taught high school) at roughly the same time she was dealing with her abusive coach.

On TED.com, filmed July 2009 and posted October 2009. Talgam, a former conductor, describes the "unique styles of six great 20th-century conductors, illustrating crucial lessons for all leaders."

TM posted, with the message, "I think you would enjoy this video and it's implications for how we can inspire our students to learn."

The Innovating Pedagogy blog is a forum for Open University to distribute their Innovating Pedagogy 2012 report (click on report for a PDF download) and also for each of the 10 innovations to be described and commented on by the larger community.

These are very simple workshops (for the most part, straight text with no video) that offer suggestions for some of the key moments of the classroom experience: planning, student feedback, the beginning of the semester, and the end of the semester, as well as some modules on lecturing, outcome/assessment, and testing.

A great compilation of web-based resources, listed by topic and ranging from copyright issues or diversity resources to teaching and learning resources and highlighted Teaching Resource Centers.

Impact evaluations are important because they provide evidence about what works and does not work. It looks at what caused the improvement, or lack there of. This article from the Center for Effective Philanthropy talks about evaluation from the policy, practice, as well as philanthropy perspective.
