Part of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA)'s Mathematical Science Digital Library (MathDL), this site offers resources for math teachers who want to help their students better communicate as mathematicians. The site includes assessments, rubrics, sample assignments, and things that teachers might consider before adding a communication component to their math classes.

The UK newspaper The Guardian hosts this online teacher network, which includes articles (top page) as well as a resource database accessed through this page. You can filter by subject, grade level and even creator type (e.g. Guardian, teachers or partners). While there is a decidedly UK slant, there might be some neat teaching ideas here.

Created by the Annenberg Foundation, this site provides a variety of classroom resources for teachers, including Lesson Plans. Lesson plan database can be searched by grade level as well as subject area.

Editorial from The New York Times, February 18 2013. This editorial points out the pitfalls of online college, identifying student attrition rates (in online courses) and the extra attention that "struggling" students need. The Times advocates for hybrid courses, as well as improving course design for any courses that are delivered 100% online.

In the Students section of The Chronicle of Higher Education by Katherine Mangan, Jan 23 2013. The article summarizes a report by the National Commission on Higher Education Attainment. The commission just completed a year-long review of completion issues.

Created by The Chronicle of Higher Education, the Adjunct Project is intended to be a place where adjuncts might share relevant information, particularly about pay and working conditions. In addition to the Submit and Research options, there is a blog.

With a presence both on the internet and on TV (PBS), Teaching Channel calls itself a "showcase" of "inspiring and effective teaching practices in America's schools." The organization's mission "is to revolutionize how teachers learn, connect, and inspire each other to improve the outcomes for all K-12 students across America." Browse videos by subject, grade level or topic (all from the left-hand navigation). In addition, there is a blog. Users are encouraged to subscribe, and the Teachers space is also organized by subject and grade-level, as well as by roles. The site also provides a workspace.

These links are posted on Math DL, the MAA Mathematical Sciences Digital Library. The links point to a variety of probability-related resources, from rules of basic probability to famous problems to "randomizing gadgets."

Wisc-Online, developed by faculty form the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) is a "digital library of Web-based learning resources called 'learning objects'." Categories include Business, General Education, Health, Professional Development, Service and Technical, with sub-categories under each.

AH recommended this library of learning objects, also drawing attention to the "game builder area," in which you can create an account and save favorites which can later be compiled to resource lists.
