Developing a program of traveling exhibitions gives museum a new source of revenue

Dementia care unit built near football stadium to promote reminiscence therapy.  Could museums also play this type of role?

We have been talking about TrendeWatch 2013 trend "disconnecting to reconnect" and here is a great example of a company capitalizing on this trend.  Great video.  Could this be welcome in galleries or some public programs?

All I can say is, Wow!  This is the sort of thing that could have wide-ranging ramifications, and i suspect that museums will, one day, have to decide which legal direction they will head.  Could buying a membership at a museum exempt the member from legal protections?

Referring to an exhibition called "Third Space: Inventing the Possible" set to open at North Miami's Museum of Contemporary Art, Director M'Bow said, "The Third Space is how people in hard times create a space that is no longer bounded by limitations."

Really fascinating exhibit by MoMA on the future of urbanism in global cities. 

My friend and former colleague, Max van Balgooy, suggests in his latest blog that museums can serve as "third spaces" to allow a safe place for diverse people to discuss and explore sensitive issues, such as those arising from Ferguson and related events. While we often think of "third spaces" being places for like-minded folks to gather informally, should they also provide a place to safely voice hurt and anger. What do you think about this interpretation of "third spaces?"

Another great example of how history doesn't just look back, but helps folks move into the future! Why can't more history museums provide creative outlets for their visitors.
