The innovation adoption curve of Rogers is a model that classifies adopters of innovations into various categories based on the idea that certain individuals are inevitably more open to adaption than others. It is also referred to the Multi-Step Flow Theory or Diffusion of Innovations Theory.

The "hmms" are those who watch with interest but aren't ready to dive in right away, and the "hell nos" are those who actively resist."
