The Literacy Shed is home to a wealth of visual resources that I have collected over my 10 year career as a primary school teacher.   I trawl youtube, vimeo and other sites looking for suitable resources to use in the sheds. The sheds are broadly thematic but sometimes a resource could go in 2 or more sheds, I slot it in where I think it works best. 

For Grade 2 teachers and Khamal, you might want to add somethings to this. Just email Tom Barret if you want to contribute. He has many of these 'interesting ways' presentations. Great source of classroom ideas

Interesting blog about web 2.0 programs 

Great post covering the basics of google maps. Segue...I had a great session with grade 2 integrating their map reading and story writing. Planned out a map and dropped markers on various landmarks around melb. Students in pairs were then allocated a marker with corresponding landmark and then had to write their part of the story. The Buck Institute for Education (BIE) received a generous grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation to help promote and provide deeper learning opportunities for teachers and students. Recognizing that 11,000 teachers will participate in BIE's 3-day PBL 101 workshop in 2012, the Hewlett Foundation helped BIE expand its professional development resources and expertise online. Now BIE can work with every school and every teacher through PBL University (PBLU). This summer, PBLU will pilot several Common Core aligned Math & English/Language Arts projects with complementary 2-week online classes. Teachers can receive PBL Teacher Certification from BIE, if they choose to complete all the necessary classes and implement the project with their students.

Slide to Learn Conference, This blog post covers some amazing amount of apps that can be used on the ipod touch and or the iphone/ipod. Looks like it was a great conference. 

Fabulous free online web 2.0 Based notator/score creator. Looks really powerful

FANTASTIC interactive site with loads of free stuff in ALL curriculum areas. A must-use for all teachers

This could be great for the web 2.0 eyt group its an online animation app with where you can choose from a stable of characters and backgrounds

Great list of presentation tools that can be embedded into blogs. Through the HTML tab. 

This is a fantastic web 2.0 tool. Upload images and annotate. You can other embed media inside the annotations. Annotations pop up as you click or hover over the objects you add. You can embed the annotated image into webpage or blog. This could be a useful tool for teachers and students. Lots of scope for creativity with layers etc. You can share to a group and set editing permissions for public or restricted people/groups for collaboration purposes.
