I wanted to really tag the bottom of this page (#4). It shows websites that you can go to, to check if a paper that has been turned in, has been plagiarized.
Before this note, they show strategies of awareness and strategies of prevention.
This site shows how to solve problems via video. You can search by book or by topic. You get to see a teacher work out these problems like you were sitting in a classroom.
A site for groups to work on projects together. It has IM capability, email notifications, online calendar, checklist, etc.
Teachers can manage classrooms and students can manage projects.
It looks like a great place for students and teachers to keep track of and work together on projects. (better if all students have a computer at home)
Registration is free and easy.
A good site to show students. If they are at home (and have a computer) and don't understand some homework assignments, they can go to this site to get examples and definitions. In high school they can use it for Algebra, Calc I, and Calc II
Sweetsearch is a way for students to search sites that have been approved by "staff of research experts and librarians and teachers have evaluated and approved."
This is great because it prevents students from using sites that may be misleading or full of wrong information.
This is a site that shows a software you can have at your school. It engages the 21st century learners. You do have to call them to get it for your school, but it looks like a great source.
This is a site that shows how google can help and be used in the classroom. There is a link to google apps for educators. UNCC actually uses this now and it is really useful. There are many useful links within this one.
Tells about games to help learning disabled high school students learn in a classroom more effectively. One suggestion was hangman.
It also tells about why games can help these students.
Pretty neat site on classroom organization, setup, hints, types of learning, etc. It shows how certain ways of setting up a classroom can affect learning. It shows ~ 15 hints on how to set up your classroom so that it is set up as a learning environment.
A way to record lectures. You can do this at home or in class.
We use this technology at UNCC, but it could prove to be useful in other classroom settings. Students would be able to log in from home to view the lecture again, or if they missed class, a way to not fall behind.
Site that could prove useful in the classroom. Have your network set up to you classroom and students and the teacher can pose questions, and receive answers.
