this website tells stories of teachers all over the states that have gotten in trouble with the schools they teach at by saying things on facebook that they thought were private to their friends. These stories make you think and realize that facebook is more than just a social place to find friends and keep in contact with them. We must be careful with what we say on the internet these days. You never know who is reading what you post.

This is a really interesting site that is like traveling all over the world, but staying at home. You can use the internet to learn about destinations, remember goals, play games, write a diary and so on. It seems like a strange site for teachers, but I actually think it would be really cool to use in a history class, a social studies class, or a foreign language class. Its like traveling the world, but staying in the same room. They can learn about the countries we're studying about and write some ideas or questions about it on their blog.

Is "friending" students inappropriate?

In my opinion, I think that it is inappropriate for teachers to "friend" their students. Inappropriate seems a little harsh to say but I do think that its better safe than sorry. Maybe once the student has moved on to high school and college it is okay to accept a friend request from them but even still whatever you post on the internet, you do it at your own risk.

I agree with Ashley, only I still think that even in high school I feel that teachers and students should not interact with one another unless it is school related. It seems that more often today teachers are getting fired or in major trouble by having some sort of relationships with there students. I know it doesnt just happen because they might be friends with them on facebook or something like that, but like Ashley said, "its better safe than sorry" and just stay away from temptations.

Site that could prove useful in the classroom. Have your network set up to you classroom and students and the teacher can pose questions, and receive answers.

I love Skype! It is the best invention in telecommunication ever! I keep in touch with my family in Brazil for free! In the classroom, you can have students exchange information with one another and telecommunicate with people around the world!

This website allows teachers and parents to download a browser, similar to google or yahoo, where students can explore games, videos, email, etc just like a regular browser. The only difference is this website monitors what kids look at and only allows safe, kid friendly websites through.

This is a neat website because it allows students and teachers to communicate and build and develope ideas virtually. It is fun because students and teachers can build games that apply to their curriculum and students can help in that process without wasting classroom time.
