This is a great source for teachers to use whether middle school, high school, or college level. This could be used for group assignments or individual assignments.
Teachers can send out assignments via Live Writer to students. And students can submit assigments via Live Writer as well. This takes out the extra step of sending it either as an e-mail, or having to print the assignment all together. A great way to go green, and move away from printing. It is also a great way to integrate technology into the everyday classroom.
This tool can also be used by teachers when assigning group assignments. Similar to our 6 facets assignment with Google Docs, student can share a document with the others in their group. Once they have collaboratively worked together to complete the assignment, they may then share it with the teacher to turn it in.
This is a really cool site that I might just use for fun. You can read stories, but also create books/stories online, using pics and all kinds of other applications. It would be a great way to have students either assessed on material, as a project, or to give a presentation to the class in a fun, different way.
A site that is in collaboration with the National Science Teachers Association. A great way to get students involved in the classroom using forensics to solve cases. This website provides lessons for the teachers as well as the activity sheets for students and labs to be completed in the ordinary classroom. Very creative source to enhance students learning experience in the science classroom (for all grades)
brainhoney is another onlince community specifically for teachers and their students and the parents of their students. It's a way for everyone to communicate and a wa for teachers to organize things, get tips and so on.
This site offers a variety of quizzes and games to add to a child's learning experience outside of the classroom. This site would be a good way for teachers to integrate the use of technology in the classroom.
This site is an assessment site created specifically for teachers. It is an easy way to create tests, quizzes and so on and for the students to take those assessments.
This is a website made by fellow teachers that has ideas for all kinds of things. (For things to do on the first day of school, for things to do on holidays, for service learning so on) The things I like about it is that it comes from people that already used these ideas in the classroom and tell how it worked. It's a good way for fellow educators to help each other and to be inspired by one another.
This place is a wonderful way for students to have a "hands-on" experience with history. A field trip to the museum (or even offering extra credit to students who choose to venture here on their own) would be an excellent way for students to connect the classroom with reality.
This is one of the biggest and most respected newspapers in Germany and always has the most uptodate information. I could use this as a way to practice reading and have an activity on the side for effective communication. Students would learn new vocab, use the language and catch up on what is important in Germany.
This foundation offers programs for students "to think of mathematics like never before." This website offers resources to assist teachers in teaching in new ways.
This is actually an interesting way to share info found on the web. You can highlight the pieces of a page you want others to see instead of sharing the whole page. Just something similar to diigo or delicious, but you share just parts of a page instead of a whole.
Nice website that has Power Point presentations already made for you (of course you can download and change them as you wish). I like this because sometimes it takes a long time to create a Power Point presentation! I particularly liked the one about "El Mundo Hispano" which talks about countries that speak Spanish, great way to integrate Social Studies!
CNN en español! Click on Programas, periodistas and programación to get articles for higher level Spanish classes. Great way to have serious informacion in the classroom!
This site offers very helpful resources and conferences that science teachers of all levels can attend to learn more about the subject and new ways of teaching science.
