great place to integrate current events into classroom

This is a really interesting site that is like traveling all over the world, but staying at home. You can use the internet to learn about destinations, remember goals, play games, write a diary and so on. It seems like a strange site for teachers, but I actually think it would be really cool to use in a history class, a social studies class, or a foreign language class. Its like traveling the world, but staying in the same room. They can learn about the countries we're studying about and write some ideas or questions about it on their blog.

This is a great source, I believe. Teachers can use this as a on-going project throughout the semester to catalog the work of their students throughout the year. There are several ideas I can come up with to how this would be useful: 1. In a math classroom, students can catalog the important knowledge they aquire and would like to remember after the year is complete. Throughout the semester, students create pages/files to be uploaded to their e-book, or go in and manually add information that they find important in their lessons. They can use their e-books as a source of reference throughout the year, and in future years. As a teacher, you can also use this source to upload important assignments to the reference, so students can reflect back on them at a later date. 2. Science teachers can use this to create a class-create book covering the information that they have covered in class, as well as to document research students have come across on their own. This could be compiled of student assignments/projects/research/etc that students complete through their unit. And then the teacher can publish the e-book allowing students to have access to their work. This is a great resource because it motivates students to do better, knowing that their work is available for view by not only the teachers, but their peers, and others online.

Hippo Campus is a site where students can go for help in subjects ranging from algebra to calculus. Help in physics, psychology and US history is available as well. Some subjects are also offered in Spanish. Teachers can also create a custom Hippo Campus webpage for their classes.

An online Party Planning Website. Basic functions are to plan and send out invitations, etc. This could be a great source for teachers. This could be used to plan a school function, event, field trip, class project, group meetings, club meetings, fundraisers, rallys, parent nights, etc.

This website offers some fun acitivies and visual aids to include in the lesson for a german class. I could either use things from the website or build ideas of my own by just taking a look.

This sight is an interactive resource for teachers of all content areas in Highschool. It has flash games and visual aids on core subject content, that can help create a more interactive and visual class. Pbs also has blogs for parents and teachers to connect on many of the content areas.

A WWII veteran recounts a remarkable experience when compassion outweighed winning.  Can be shown to class while studying WWII in order to emphasis the mental aspects of war.

This is a website that teachers can use to creat a page that there students can log on to see what is going on in the classrooms and the parents can find out what there kids are doing in there class.

This is a video of the top ten mistakes used in algebra. You can show this in class and then go over each mistake and how you can avoid that mistake.

CNN en español! Click on Programas, periodistas and programación to get articles  for higher level Spanish classes. Great way to have serious informacion in the classroom!

All things Spanish, including a section to download free Spanish works. Some of it would be awesome to teach to a high level class or perhaps use some parts of works to develop in lower level courses...anyways, lots and lots of stuff to explore.

This website allows you to look up audio, videos, worksheets, and lessons based on your topic/ unit. The site will even filter by grade level and subject and will give you different lesson plans/ worksheets you can use in the class. They also have interactive games for the lesson that students can do online.

A way to record lectures. You can do this at home or in class. We use this technology at UNCC, but it could prove to be useful in other classroom settings. Students would be able to log in from home to view the lecture again, or if they missed class, a way to not fall behind.

Scientific topics include earth science, geography, life science, etc.
