California passes a bill that allows children under 18 to delete any posts that they may regret in the future. Some people, such as James Steyer, agree with this idea and say that it is a way to put "privacy in the hands of kids, teenagers and the parents, not under the control of an anonymous tech company," however big social media networks who already lets everyone delete their posted items which make people complain about this new law. This also is a burden to some social media networks due to the problem of having to find the people who live in California. This relates to my tag because it is a bill passed by the government for children in social messaging systems, so it includes both politics and politics. My thoughts on this are the same as the people arguing against this, because there is no point in creating a bill only for people under 18 when almost all social media networks can do this for all ages. < SORRY SIR I FORGOT TO SHARE THIS TO THE GROUP LAST WEEK!!!!

What this article is trying to say is that in life, if you don't reach a goal that you have put yourself into having, then you shouldn't take failure of reaching that goal and decide since it didn't happen, you are a failure. Instead, prepare yourself for those times in life when you will be great, or you will reach something you wanted, because one day it will still happen. This will show and help you reach your future goals in life, which is why it relates to my tags. The United States governments is spying on everyone, and the easiest way to monitor people is through the internet. Many people believe that one day the US government's way of monitoring people will be shared with or found out by a criminal organization. I believe that although it is important for that US governments to put surveillance they should just monitory anyone suspicious. Also I believe that if they spy on everyone it will become easier to find and hack them back. Personally I would not care if a government was watching my every move on the internet because I have nothing to hide. Finally I believe that most people would sleep better if the Government would tell the population if their spying program was compromised.

The suit allows the user to more freely than any other exoskeleton built up to date and it also lets you lift up to 220 pounds with ease. It is being made specifically for people to use in disaster zones such as areas where earthquakes have struck. In my view I believe that it is great that humanity has been able to create these machines to save lives. Although, a new age in technology creates a new age of warfare. It would not be the first time that something made for the benefit of mankind would cause death and destruction. Such as gunpowder, with was accidentally created when the Chinese were trying to create an elixir of life.

This is what Leslie Canteris was shocked about when Sisler high school in Winnipeg had an exercise about online privacy. These third party apps can take anything from your Facebook account. Many Canadian students don't understand how to protect their privacy. They don't want to be tracked, but have no clue to avoid it. in fact, kids spend more time changing their privacy settings on their social networks more than adults. People should not use their real names when playing online games, and come up with tough passwords that are hard for outsiders to crack. I applaud Sisler high school for teaching their students about social media privacy. I think that more high schools should talk to its students about this issue since social media is a huge part of many peoples daily lives.

FreedomPop has come out with a new phone that will protect your phone calls and data from hackers. The phone is nicknamed the "Snowden phone" but is actually a Samsung Galaxy S2 that FreedomPop remodeled. The phone is selling now for $189 and comes with unlimited voice and texting. They also throw in 50MB of monthly data access for the first three months and then charges the users $10 a month. FreedomPop's Chief Operating Officer Steven Sesar says: "In light of recent violations in consumer's privacy across social networks and mobile devices, privacy is becoming increasingly important to many Americans and we all have a right to communicate anonymously. Large carriers don't have the flexibility, desire, or creativity to invest in privacy." I think this is a great idea because today, so many people don't know if their information is safe. This will help people feel more secure and safe with their information and not have to worry about who could have their phone calls or text messages.

Daylight saving time might say that it helps make our lives nicer and help us save energy, but in reality it is completely pointless. Daylight Saving Time was actually first suggested by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 but the idea was shot down by everyone stating that it was pointless. The Germans then used it the First World War to save coal during war time. After that everyone started using it and didn't think to change back. Today, people state that this change of time helps to save energy, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and reduces traffic accidents. First off, Daylight saving time does not in fact save energy. Recent studies show that it might reduce the US electricity usage during March and April, but only by 1%. Secondly, this does not help us to become any healthier. In fact, the clock shifts disrupt our circadian rhythms and actually spike the suicide rates and increases the number of recorded heart attacks. Daylight saving time also does not reduce traffic. Some studies show that the time change makes no difference at all while others suggest that traffic is reduced by 0.7 which is pathetic and makes no difference. I personally do not like Daylight saving time only because I loose an hour of sleep and it screws up my whole schedule because everything is off by one hour. I much prefer the clocks changing an hour behind so I get an extra hour of sleep.

As some people are so immature to share every single moment of their daily lives on the internet, they are unaware that all of that information is open to the eyes of predators all around the world. It does not matter if you are only confiding in a pen pal who you think is reliable and honest or if you are just trying to be viral with your statuses. Not everyone you meet online is safe and can eventually come to harm you using the knowledge you have willingly and ignorantly gave up to them. For example, the lady in this article retells her experience of being kidnapped, brought to a completely different state and continuously raped by a "friend" she met in a chat room and blindly trusted who then targeted and made a victim out of her. Instead of going through an event like this first hand, people, especially children need to wake up and realize that the Internet is not as secure as it may seem and the people you may have the chance to talk to can be potential monsters. From the way I see it, just because you are hidden behind a screen does not mean that there is not a way for predators to find you. Why would you share the secrets of your privacy which you would normally never tell in person, but online where there is always a chance for it being violated?

Look at any famous active youtuber who uploads regularly, and it's pretty hard not to notice this. The view counter stops at 301, and only updates after a certain amount of time (a day), and then makes this giant leap to 10,000 or whatever. I took the liberty of looking this up myself, and here's a pretty brief explanation of  what's going on: Youtube stops the counter to verify the authenticity of the clicks on the video, and future clicks. They try to detect, and eliminate counterfeit views. This is some cool info right here, maybe Google is only getting started on identifying fakes. Something similar Google has done to this is changing your novelty nickname to a real name to comment on youtube. Start to a more identifiable internet, perhaps!

Apparently, SNCF, a french railway company who shipped a lot of Jews to concentration camps and by proxy their imminent deaths, is being demanded to pay reparations to many Holocaust survivors in the US who are also trying to pass a bill that makes sure no taxes will go towards that company until they take full responsibility for their actions and that partnerships with American businesses will be blocked. SNCF has already made an apology but goes with the excuse of saying that they were coerced by the Nazis, much to the disbelief of the survivors who think and have evidence that what happened was concretely a business deal. This controversy is a very big deal as it brings up past wrongs that still need to be fixed even to this day. Those Holocaust survivors have been through hell and surely they should receive all of the compensation and more because of the terrors they have experienced which no one in their entire life should. Until this situation turns out, I hope that justice gets served.

Theodore Cottingham is single-handedly the greatest discovery I have made on the internet. When you click this link, it will bring you to the world of Theodore. All his religious beliefs on ALL of his 816 videos summed up in one minute. His philosophical nature is the driving and compelling force for this channel. The uniqueness of his delivery keeps me coming back. I honestly cannot fathom how this channel only has 18 subs. This man is not catholic, nor any religion for that matter. A future internet phenomenon for sure, reddit/atheism would probably go crazy over this guy. Oh yeah, and did I mention each one of his videos are an hour long? Don't fret though, every second is well worth being in Theodore's presence. I would consider subscribing to this guy if you already haven't, he makes a video every day. Well, there's so much I can explain on a Diigo bookmark, you'll see what I mean once you watch one of his videos. US carrier AT&T lowered the price of its 2GB monthly plan. This plan also includes unlimited talk, and international texting. The 2GB of data, can be shared with family, or other devices. The plan used to cost $55 per month, but starting today, it dropped $15 to $40 per month. The monthly fees for a smartphone on this plan is $40 per month on a 2 year contract, and $25 per month if bought outright or through AT&T's Next incentive which allows you to upgrade every year. The total cost of this plan would be $80 on a contract, and $65 outright, or through next. I think this plan, especially through Next is an excellent deal. I think that Canadian carriers should offer more plans like these to replace the costly plans we pay for today.

On March 13 Target experienced a massive breach that compromised 40 million credit and debit cards as well as personal information about approximately 70 million customers. There has arrose allegations of the Target security team dismissing the warnings as nothing and allowing it to happen. Although Target has come back saying that like any large company there are many technical events that come to the attention of the team. The team noticed the criminal had entered their system but the situation was evaluated and acted upon although at Target they are investigating whether if different judgements had been made there would have been a different outcome and the entire situation would have been avoided.

The XBox One's Kinect is always watching. As you watch TV through the XBox One the camera watches you and the system knows the channels you are watching. The Kinect is an easy way to allow Microsoft to watch us in everyday activities. This spans from watching TV, playing games, and whatever else you do where the Kinect is.

This article is about a new phone being released by a company called FreedomPop. FreedomPop is an internet service provider that provides mobile service in the US. The phone is known as the Privacy Phone. It is the only phone currently on the market that allows for encrypted communications. It supposedly has 128 bit encryption for voice calls and text messages. Data from the internet is sent through a virtual private network, which is very secure and encrypted. Also the privacy phone allows you to change your phone number whenever you like.I think this is a great idea because many people can be hacked easily these days and finally there is a private way for people make calls, texts and access the internet. With that being said, who knows how long it will be before someone successfully hacks and bypasses the security on this phone.

This week, pro-russian hacking groups have said that they have took down many of NATO's websites. The group that claimed attack was Cyber Berkut a hactivist group. The type of attack was a DDOS attack (distributed-denial of service). The attacks came when Ukraine decided if its Crimea region was to join Russia. The Russian government has also ordered ISP's (internet service providers) to block certain anti-Putin websites. I believe this hacking is just a less violent form of Ukraine vs Russia. I still do not believe why Pro-Russian hackers would interfere with a referendum that would actually co-inside with their very own beliefs.

In England, Two computer engineers were able to make a rubiks cube solving machine, out of legos. The machine does not just simply solve the rubiks cube, it is also able to solve it in under 3.253 seconds, making it the faster robot ever to solve a rubiks cube. The amazing thing is, is that this machine was built on these engineers free time. I believe what these two english engineers did was simply amazing. If someone has the free time to make a machine like this, these two powerful minds have the capability to make robots that could solve equations that are difficult, or things that make our every day life easier. Lego is truly a toy not just for kids, the motors and actuators are used from multiple Lego Windstorm sets and is being controlled by a Samsung galaxy s4 with a custom app.

This article is about how the PS4 topped the Xbox One in sales again for the month of February. However by not that much, as the Xbox One has increased its sales from January by around 61%. This is all thanks to Microsofts new Titanfall bundle. This bundle included the console, along with a copy of titanfall for free and a month of xbox live. I actually bought this console last week because of the bundle and I love it. The gaming system is really good, the controller is designed really well, and titanfall is such an amazing game. I think in the next few months the gap between sales of PS4s and Xbox One's will get narrower and narrower.
