Every week it never fails, any site with more visual examples of the design element is the easiest and sometimes quickest way for to fully grasp the concept of it.

After the reading this week, I book marked this site because it describes effective repetition design principles for web designers. I thought not only was this related to our reading but also to the new media concept in the class

This website explains how effective use of repetition can aid a website design. If used properly, repetition can add an element that helps tie the entire design together. Repetition is very useful principle of design that can add a lot to websites.

This is an ancient example of the use of repetition, I think that sometimes it is important to reflect on our past and realize that many of the elements and principles of design that are learned now were at one point just part of human nature.

In advertising, association (or the "association principle") is: A. a persuasion method that links the product with a setting, person, cultural concept, or positive feeling.

The Association Principle: Association is an advertising technique that involves drawing a mental link between a product and desirable qualities of various kinds that may include attractiveness, wealth, success, family, patriotism, security, happiness, youthfulness, health, adventure, independence, love, romance, sex, etc. If the ad contains:

REPETITION is the use of similar or connected pictorial elements. For example, similar shapes, colors or lines that are used more than once"

This You Tube video gives a tutorial of rhythm and repetition. It is very helpful because it explains the different elements and how they are used in the image to create rhythm and repetition.

"I want you!" Uncle Sam is a great example of a symbolic association, whether viewers see him as a symbol of patriotism or propaganda, he is definitely associated with America as a popular rhetorical device. This might be what I choose to use for my rhetorical design assignment this week...hmm...

I like what the person in this video said about repetition. For example, mentions to give your project some variety by moving some parts of your project around. Or you could give it a new color or texture in order for it to catch the audiences eye.

This is a quick video that does a great job showing how to find the vanishing point.

This You Tube video is all about color balance. The person in the video took a photo that was already balanced and created different variations of the same photo.

This video covers the basic concepts that define balance as a principle of design.

This is a pretty entertaining video of how people use different perspectives in their photographs in order to create illusions, it is super cool and related.

I thought this was an interesting you tube video about how to organize and layout a project effectively.

This is a gentalman showing the importance of layout in a graphic design.

This website gives more in depth information about the design concept of balance. It gives several examples of balance with an explanation of how a particular image is balanced. This website is useful because of the examples it gives since the concept of balance is somewhat confusing.
