When you are selecting a font for your resume, the font size should be between 10 and 12 to allow for readability. Your name (which should be placed at the top of your resume) can be slightly larger.

This resource is sort of an aggregate of several resources. Each goes into and provides different perspectives of how typography can and is used. There is a lot of variance to each and I like all of the differentiation. (Week 11, 12/1)

While old, I like this resource for two reasons. It gives a snapshot of a problem that we are able to use and relate to today. We are able to see the sort of things they were thinking and how we have evolved or regressed. I also like how it is not just talking about the digital divide, but actually going in to "Where We Are" (or were in 2002). (12/10 Week 14)

In the latest episode of his podcast, "Penn's Sunday School," Penn Jillette discusses the negative aspect of rhetoric. Beginning around minute 46 of the show, he describes the details of the article "12 Phrases Progressive Need to Ditch." In Jillette's oppinion, changing your words to placate your audience is not only manipulating, but also demeaning.

I think this is interesting coming from people who develop and release email software what they find appropriate and deem 'good' to do in a business related email setting.

This was my favorite website out of all the one that I came across. This list was very well put together and it is presented in a very professional manner.

The best tip given is to not use email to avoid personal contact. Face to face time with a person is valuable and most of the time allows for better communication understanding.

This website helped me to better understand the definitions of immediacy, hypermedia, and remediation. It sort of broke down the terms a little bit better than in the reading for me.

According to J. David Bolter and Richard A. Grusin their theory on the topic is the characteristics of new media and its continuous remediating media outlets such as television, radio, journalism and other old media. Remediation also spreads out and takes two different forms to explain it, such as immediacy and hypermediacy in its media form."

This website gave a really good example of immediacy, hypermediacy, and remediation. It was confusing for me to read about the three terms. Seeing the example provided on this website helped me to better understand the three.
